   They do a good job & can be affordable but the products prices are out of this world. In the lovely Devonport village. Nice staff. The first time I had the older hairdresser who was nice but left me for more than ten minutes in the middle of doing my straighten, to go take a fare off a customer. The customer had their card out ready to pay wave but she the hairdresser could not work out how to do the transaction & fluffed around for ten minutes until she got it. No staff went to help her. I had two hairdressers butts in my face on either side of me as they were doing other clients & was feeling quite claustraphobic due to this & it was a crowded and warm day in the salon. On a more recent note I went, the hairdresser who served me, pulled my ear out, like yanked it out! I told her not to. Why would she do that? She said it was to tell me to put my hand over it while straightening. What?? You pull someones ear, you yank it? For that? That makes literally NO sense. You tell or ask them to cover the ear not help yourself to yanking their ear out. I am sure I told her this the first time when she did it and she did it a second time on my second visit which made me very angry. I had ear surgery pinning my ears back I have never ever wanted or allowed someone to yank my ear out like she did. So disrespectful & insensitive & maybe on purpose- I don't know. Also, I went first & was told a price over the phone & when I went to pay they upped it by $10. I said no, it was this price, not that price you just gave me. They looked very displeased & had to find 'proof' that is what I paid & I was treated like with disdain once I paid the original quoted price as though I was less of a valued person. Clearly it is all about the money. I get that but still I am a person. I am a customer. This happened in the second occasion too. Did not feel welcome or like a valued customer for sure. The staff member who did this was the young woman from Dubai recently moved here with the dark curls. She needs some training on how to treat customers. She didn't even try & make conversation. I had to start it off. She burned my scalp with every stroke. I stayed quiet as didn't want to make a big issue then she burned my face at the top of the hairline. BOY O BOY> Not happy!! So she yanked my ear out (how dare she & for what reason??), burned my scalp (I get straightens all the time, this is not normal or good practice, burning your clients heads!) & burns my face at the top of my hairline where my fringe is. Not OK!

   I have been going to the Salon for over 20 years. Even though it is now a considerable distance for me to travel top get there, it is worth the trip. Louise is an excellent cutter and the colouring is always perfect.

   Very happy experience! My first time at this salon and got an appointment readily. Was made to feel very welcome and my stylist, Maria, was excellent in every regard. She listened attentively to me, made great suggestions and had images at the ready of ideas she was proposing. She was easy to talk to, very professional and i’m delighted with my hair cut- it is exactly what I wanted and expected from our discussion, and has great body and movement and a strong shape. Really pleased with the whole experience. Thank you!

   Just had such a great experience at Louise Simpson. Ava did highlights and cut for me and a cut for my son and we are really happy with both. She takes her time to do a thorough job and really cares about making sure you are happy. My blonde is amazing and I love the cut too. Thank you for such a great experience. I highly recommend Ava and all the other staff are very friendly too. It’s a great vibe.

   Stylist wouldn’t give me the cut I asked for. She lacked confidence and the result was conservative and highly disappointing. Found a stylist elsewhere who understood and delivered exactly what I wanted - unafraid to style wavy hair using classic, time honoured, trade cutting skills. Wasted money at LS, but now have a perfect haircut and a talented stylist, proving stylist at LS very wrong about my hair and her persuasive agenda to sideline my clear and simple requests.

   Absolutely fabulous service and results - was recently at a funeral when the lady behind me stopped me as we stood to leave. She said that she just had to tell my how great the styling at the back of my hair looked. She had been admiring it during breaks in the funeral service!
