The creamy mushrooms were amazing! All the food was delicious, we had eggs bene and the smoked salmon scrambled eggs with a side of creamy mushrooms. The coffee was perfect. Great atmosphere, engaging staff, cabinet food was well presented and very tempting.

Great atmosphere, with live jazz music on the Sunday we went. Thai chicken salad was delicious (see the EDIT below), the pancakes were pretty average, would try something else next time. Good coffee and smoothie. Service was fast, slightly impersonal, order at counter and pay first. EDIT : after discussion about the Thai chicken salad, apparently it was only good while the chicken was stil hot, after that it was very average...

Had a delicious breakfast here yesterday! I am fairly boring, I always get the eggs on toast. The had a big beautiful menu of loads of different things, as well as cabinet food. The staff were super friendly and welcoming I could see they are a local favorite. Great outdoor street seating as well as loads inside. Would highly recommend :) Jess, Hospitality Specialist Kakapo Business Sales

Either I have not done dinning in Auckland for so long or Auckland is just a ridiculously expensive city. We ordered 2 sets of breakfast. The one with spinach is $16 and one with a sausage is $15. The portion is so small even my 9 year old boy said it is not enough. I would expected at least 2 slices of toasts. Another set of breakfast which we ordered is toast with jam and it costs $12. Really, it is 2 slices of toast cut in diagonal to make 4 pieces with some jam and butter. It is quite crazy. The one in Te Anau costed us $10 but at least the one in Te Anau were made from sourdough and bigger in portion but the one in Auckland just normal bread to us. We went to South Island tourist spot like Te Anau and Queenstown. Both places are expensive but not like this at all.

Nothing to recommend here unfortunately. The service wasnβt great & information around card surcharges very confusing saying if you swipe or use a pin thereβs no surcharge yet there was for any credit card so that needed to be clarified. Happy hour wasnβt very happy & we were wrongly accused around what was included, the saving was also minimal & the cocktails that we did order werenβt that great - very syrupy Espresso Martini & the Cosmopolitan our friend ordered was served in a glass tea cup? Drink maker had no idea how to make the drinks either which didnβt help. Wouldnβt go back sorry.

Ok experience here during happy hour, but the happiness was only $2 off wine and beer, not spirits. The espresso martini was ok, but not quite as strong as we're used to. The cosmopolitan was served in an Irish coffee glass and was overly strong. The service was very unenthusiastic and we were left wondering where the lady really wanted to be...wouldn't go back but wasn't a disaster.

I've been to La La a few times (including at their previous location) and have always been happy with my experience. Coffee - one of the best and consistently made, food - yummy and don't have to wait long for it (even if you ordered one of their meals), and customer service - top rate (cheerful, quick, attentive). Clean toilets too! Not sure why but the last time we were there, the music (there was a pianist playing) was a bit loud so we had to sit outside if we wanted to talk while having our coffee and scones. Other than that tiny hiccup, if you haven't been to La La, you should definitely give it a try.
