Onetangi is a great place - so is the sands to visit - the beach is about 2 km long and it is at the far end of the island from when the ferry is dropped off so there aren’t that many tourists that are on the beach. There are plenty of places to eat and drink when you reach Onetangi
Would not stay again. We rented the property 'Te Koha' for bridesmaids accommodation for our wedding. We paid over $800 p/n for our stay, there was lots of mold around the windows, the property had no been cleaned well or aired out and there was no cutlery at all (knives and forks). We tried to contact Waiheke Escapes about the cutlery and were hold that there was some, despite us assuring them there wasn't. After our stay we were accused of having spilt alcohol in one of the bedrooms due to a 'smell of alcohol'. We asked for proof of this e.g photos of a stain or marks as we were happy to pay if it was legitimate. But waiheke escapes was unable to be provide any photos to us. We were then charged a large cleaning fee with no proof of a quote from the cleaning company.
The Waiheke Escapes team are fantastic and genuinely just want you to have a great time. The property is well-kept, modern and the views are stunning. Already talking about the next time we can come back! Thank you.
Great location with awesome views, home easy to find and very homely. Complete setup with everything needed to be a home away from home. Thank you for making this experience enjoyable for the family.
What a lovely stay we have had, the house is super clean and tidy, the beds are so comfortable. Lots of rooms to spread out and relax inside and out. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Awesome accommodation for a small work trip or family. The place was clean and tidy, spacious with breathtaking views from the deck. Chattels were plenty and include a BBQ and a spa pool. Great value for your money.
Booked a paid for a property for 6 people but was told late evening that it was now unavailable. They were apologetic and offered to find alternative solutions in the morning but we were arriving in the morning so that didn't work. They did work hard trying to find us somewhere to stay that night. In the end only one property was available but it was not suitable for us. We ended up booking through airbnb after we had arrived at Waiheke with nowhere to stay ($900+ dollars on transfer fares so we were going to take the chance!). Needless to stay, it was the worst experience I've had with booking for Waiheke.
