   We came here for my daughter’s 13th birthday, it was our first Teppenyaki experience and it was so much fun! We came to the Takapuna restaurant especially for the entertainment as the other Daikoku (much closer to where we live) didn’t have the best reviews for the entertainment side of things. Not only was out chef hilarious and entertaining, the food was also delicious! As I had mentioned in the booking that it was my daughters birthday, the staff made a fuss over the “birthday girl” (which she loved” and even brought out her dessert with a candle for her to blow out. Amazing night thank you!!!

   All round great experience! The staff are kind and check in just enough. The chef was so funny! We had a great time thank you very much. Highly recommend lunch deal, it's a decent portion and doesn't feel heavy afterwards.

   Went here with my family for my birthday lunch. The place was clean and had a nice, welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the lunch special, which let me choose between chicken, fish, or beef, great to have options. Portion sizes were reasonable and everything tasted fresh. Overall, a pleasant experience. Will definitely return.

   Food was great, service was average but the prices are way over the top for what you get, $18 for 500ml of beer... Our kids all had the kids version of the set menu which was just under $30 & they were still hungry. Not good for 5, 8 & 11year old's. I used to love this place many years ago but unfortunately will think twice about going back.

   Extractor fan over our table was not working so we sat in the greasy food fumes. Ruined my evening and clothes. They made excuses, but shouldn't be allowed. The chef was great tho. This a management issue. Go to Albany or Botany till they get this fixed.

   Could have been a 5 star night IF management would allow staff to turn on the extraction fans so the smoke from cooking did not blind us. So much smoke at one point I couldn't open my eyes, and our clothes needed dry cleaning. A 10% discount was eventually achieved after complaining and the till person suggested writing feedback on the experience, clearly not the 1st person to take issue.

   Great service treat values and tasty food. Lots of choice from Beef to fish, the idea of a chef cook in front of you emails noval even as a repeat customer. Our chef today was very friendly and knows what he was doing. Booking recommended, cheap on street parking on surrounding streets.$1 for an hour on weekends. Lunch delays are of good values, ice creams included. Recommending a visit.
