   I’m writing about a recent visit to Nando’s Wairau Park. We ordered the 2 full chicken + 3 sides deal and asked for one of the half chickens to be Lemon & Herb, with the two leg pieces only. We have two young kids, ages 5 and 6, who can only eat the leg pieces comfortably; the breast is too dry and hard for them to swallow. The staff at the front counter refused the request. A kitchen hand said it could be done, but then the manager refused. In the end, they simply cut the chicken into four pieces with no regard for which two pieces got the Lemon & Herb flavor. Because of this and the refusal to accommodate our simple request, we left without eating, with hungry children in tow. What went wrong A reasonable, food‑preference request for young children was declined, even after a staff member indicated it was possible. The manager’s refusal meant the meal couldn’t be adjusted in a small but meaningful way, and we ended up leaving without food. Overall the experience felt unaccommodating and left us frustrated and hungry. It would help if staff were empowered to make small accommodations when reasonable—especially when it directly affects young kids eating the meal. Clearer guidance or flexibility from management on simple requests like piece selection could prevent situations where customers leave without food For reference, the Wairau Park store is listed at 3/170 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley.    Not one for reviews. But this place was great. Service was chill and the food was delicious. Haven't been because I thought all the food was spicy but they have non spicy options so bonus!! Would come again but as a treat because it is pretty expensive compared to your other food joints. *Image of my partners order because she takes pictures of everything

   Chargrilled doesn’t mean burnt. My girlfriend ordered the spicy rice salad and it was full of burnt bits. Very disappointing. Ruined her birthday meal. Awful

   It was awful. I certainly won't be going back! I spent $50 an internet order at 6:10 and arrived to pick up at exactly 6:35, as advised. The food had a tag on it saying 6:35 but it was all stone cold. That was only part of it. The lettuce in the salad was more brown than the crust on the bun and some of the olives seemed to have dissolved into mush.

   This is the second time this happens in Nandos. I brought my own container to reduce waste and packaging and ordered a burger for take away. So I asked them to put my burger in the container. They still wrapped the burger and then put it in my container!! I always do this in other restaurants (not nandos) and they always do it right.
