Stayed in the room upstairs when it was still called "Waiarjipa Homestead". The mirror in the bathroom was a see-through mirror which allowed the owner Robert to check the bathroom from his shed without being seen. Creepy place
Thank you Robert and Marie. We had a lovely stay in the little cabin. The breakfast set us up for our long walk ahead ! Enjoyed the animals. Dottie the donkey enjoyed the banana skin she doing so well for her age !
Our worst overnight location in NZ! This is an understatement, fortunately we slept in our camper. Price paid for this dream location $51 all the same. (May 2023) The photos speak louder than my comment. Comfortable with shower / WC and authentic cuisine There are animals and personally I found the donkey sad and not maintained. When we arrived he was in a small stall with little room to move. We arrived late and too late to find another location, especially since it had been paid for in advance. We were not alone and other people shared the kitchen and bathrooms.

Stayed here for a weekend, the place is truly great. The rooms and house are clean and warm, breakfast is delightful and the hosts are genuinely welcoming. Would definitely return again and again!
These guys are absolutely amazing! big comfortable rooms, friendly hosts and a great country feel. we stayed one night and Robert and his wife looked after us so well and made sure we had everything we needed. the shower is amazing too and the place is very spacious with lots of friendly animals. I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend them to anyone they are amazing. 10 stars.
Thank you Robert and Marie for a wonderful stay. This is a totally great place where I was able to relax, be myself and enjoy my stay. We will certainly book here again if we have business in Auckland. Near the Motorway, easy to find, easy to access. It strikes me as a good place for a bit of a respite - with the family atmosphere, farm animals, commanding position on the hill and not least the spacious decks / outdoor areas. Many thanks.
