Beautiful swimming hole. I travel here to swim numerous times to swim from Mangere Bridge. Spoke with a few locals over the years & asked if we could put a tent up and do an overnight stay they said they don't see why not as long as we don't vandalise the place and leave it how we found it no rubbish etc. Question is would we be allowed?

Such a beautiful, historic place. Such a shame to see the old cement works falling into disrepair. You would think the council would want to restore such a historical structure? It would definitely be a tourist draw card if they did. Council: SAVE WARKWORTH CEMENT WORKS!!

What a lovely quiet place, to relax, listen to nature, see some historic buildings. Drive down to it isn't too bad.

Cool ruins. Lake for swimming in summer.

Really weird place. Some really cool ruins, though unfortunately most of it is fenced off as it's a "dangerous" area. I did see a notice mentioning some ongoing plans of talks with the government to make this area accessible, so that would be nice.

Fresh and unpolluted in the colder months - in summer there are nearly more people swimming than (friendly) eels. Someone should set up an jumping platform or better still, run an inflatable water park here.

A hidden treasure in Warkworth. We love it here. Bring life jackets for your little ones so they can swim and have fun without you worrying too much as it is very deep. The teens love doing their bombs. Great picnic areas. Make it a day out with the family and don't forget your water toys. Toilets are clean. Dog friendly.

It is the ruins of an old cement works it very bad preserved, so there is no safe access to the ruins. You can walk along the river. And enjoy the tranquility of the area. Nice place to go for a quick picnic if you dont have anything better planned.
