Vic Road Kitchen is a hidden gem in the north shore. The staff and venue create a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Ronan absolutely knows his cocktails. B has a birds-eye view of everything. Definitely ask for recommendations, especially on cocktail glassware. The food is delicious, with a mixture of small and large plates (even the solo diner will feel at home). They have regular specials so be sure to check their instagram before you dine. The cheese platter was my fave (forgot to take a photo oops)

A very good kitchen for friends to catch up with drinks in Devonport. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Staff are busy but friendly!

I had a lovely solo dinner and enjoyed every bite tremendously. I had fresh oysters and homemade focaccia (amazing chewy texture and glistening with olive oil and salt!). I also had the daikon salmon parcels which were outstanding! The freshness of the daikon and dill paired perfectly with the richness of the salmon and salmon roe. I almost ordered a second round. The Brussels sprouts were very good but much heavier and probably better to share β€” I did eat the whole bowl all by myself! Excellent wine list and lots of drink specials! I wish I could come back to try all their cocktails too. The service started off friendly but seemed an irritable towards me at the end. Maybe they just had a long night? It left me feeling a little bummed out which is not how I wanted to finish an otherwise splendid experience.

We had a very average experience here. Waited and hour and a half for our food, they had run out of most of the menu, took ages to advise us to re select then two of our group got their food while the other 4 waited. The menu was pretentious and didn’t deliver on flavour and the staff while pleasant enough really couldn’t give a monkeys and pass it off with β€œthe kitchens busy” maybe don’t take the bookings if you can’t facilitate them. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

I love eating at Vic Road Kitchen, their food is so delicious and I love their cocktails. I am biased as my family has a history of working there but I can still say it's fabulous ;)). On the expensive side so it's a good treat for a special occasion. I recommend their brussel sprouts and ceviche though try a bit of everything - it's tapas style so share with friends and whanau!

A very disappointing experience. Food quality not the problem although the offerings were not up to the higher end prices being charged. Staff not professional. Not made to feel valued as a customer. They were distracted and made everything seem a chore . More interested in offering wine refills than actually caring for our table . Not knowledgeable about food offerings . Sadly an uncomfortable experience and not one to be repeated.

We had a pleasant dining experience here. Ordered the Swordfish and the Beef sirloin plus the chips. Food was nicely presented and the greens were fresh, flavors blended really well together. The meat was cooked the way we like it. It was delicious and had generous serving. Place was neat with chill ambiance. Staff were courteous. Would definitely try the other meals on the menu once we visit Devonport again.

It’s an attractive place. With good service. The yellow belly flounder [$27] was excellent- fresh, very flavorful and a very good sized fish. It is served with charred broccolini and cockles that were also fine. It was the highlight of our meal. The bruschetta [$19] appetizer with smoked sardines, buffalo curd, radish and fennel on toast as also good. There are three of them in a serving. The green-lip mussel [$22] appetizer comes with crumbled house made chorizo, olives, tomato and capers. The chorizo and sauce were tasty but the mussels themselves were disappointing. Some of the least flavorful mussels I have ever had. We also had a side of charred Brussels sprouts [$12] in a date and chili purΓ©e. We liked the sprouts but found the sauce terribly sweet. For dessert we shared the dark chocolate and prune cake [$14]. It is served with a scoop of walnut ice cream and a bourbon syrup. The cake and ice cream were enjoyable but again the sauce was to our taste sickly sweet- very much detracting from instead of enhancing the dish.
