The most beautiful movie theater. I watched Life in One Chord with my friend. It was an unforgettable experience. Dorathee and Philip are extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. They are both very contagiously passionate about movies. High recommended. Will definitely go back again to watch more NZ movies.
The words to describe this theatre is nostalgic and cute. The stairs that ascend up from the entrance have beautiful hand rails. With the foyer being very intimate that hugs all the entrances to each cinema and the concession stand. The snack options are great and the first time I’ve ever seen gluten free cones for ice cream. The prices are fair for snacks and tickets. The seats in the theatre are comfortable and spacious. The couches at the back are really nice to sit on and the cushions are a really nice addition to the aesthetics.
Old school as. Loved it. Great theatre with comfortable seating even though a three hour movie, and it was like a little slice of Kiwiana lining up to buy a ticket. Pointless to book online probably. Just get there early and get decent seats. Real ice creams too. Like, actual ice cream. Would recommend The Vic to anyone.
Cheaper costs when compared to larger cinemas like Event Cinemas. Decent amount of seats available for a small town cinema. Seating are also unassigned so it's first come first serve. The seats themselves are just cushioned chairs nailed to a wooden floorboard though so no cup holders or arm rests.
One of the oldest cinemas there is, highly recommend if you're after a quant cinematic experience
I guess it would be quite nostalgic for some, very handy for those who live in Devonport and is quite beautiful but not my cup of tea. Very affordable tickets but the theatre smelt like a 1970s car, staff are wonderfully friendly but the seats were rather uncomfortable and sadly the best spot in the house is taken by the stairway down the middle of the theatre.
