For Chinese takeaways, perfectly fine. Wouldn’t recommend for fish and chips. Last few times fish has been a weird taste and not great batter, then tried the crumb fish and it was a little too fishy. Chips are always over cooked and not great at all. Can’t fault the Chinese takeaways however. Disappointing considering this is the only fish and chips in the village - and being seaside you’d hope for better

The crumbed fish was stale- slight ammonia taste Could not eat it.

Tried this place a few times as it's the only fish and chips in Eastbourne. Fish batter is soft and rubbery, yet fish is overdone. Chips usually overcooked. Worth the trip into Moera instead.

This place is a massive favourite of mine when visiting the area twice a year over the past few years. Have mostly had Chinese dishes from this place and it always impresses, especially the Sichuan Chicken & Vegetables and Singapore Noodles. My sister also tried the Vegetarian Burger and didn’t stop raving about how delicious it was. Portions are big and loaded with plenty of very fresh ingredients.

IG: 2Fish1Chip Order: Fish & Chips, Corn fritter and a sausage. Cost: $23.26 Looking for good things from every venue I order from, and this round was disappointing. The fish batter was soft and had no crunch giving it that rubbery texture. While the fillet itself was okay, the lack of a β€œGolden” crunch laid the foundation of a disappointing experience. As humble and simple as the chip maybe, it’s still requires attention. The chips were off and can only be described as fry. The corn fritter was the meals only saving grace with its fine mash and corn content. The outside cooked as it should providing that thin crunch and opening it to a well herbed and season centre. The size of the fish, fritter was of a good size as was the portion of chips. Despite the lighter colour of the sausage, it was cooked well and tasted nice. Not the worst I’ve had, but also not the best. Below average is where I would rank the goods from Golden Palace.

Bought two large $18.00 each fish dinners. When opening noticed in amongst the heaps of shredded cabbage piled with salad dressing, no plastic knives, forks, or serviettes. The so called fillet would be approx 75 percent of the size of our normal fish dinners we've bought elsewhere, which aren't covered with thick puffy crumbs, The chips were dried and burnt. I feel sad having to write negative reviews, to warn others they could have the same experience. Needless to say we won't be back.

The chinese meals are excellent, they are healthy and nourishing. Good enough for a birthday meal for sure.

Just visiting the parents in Eastbourne from Auckland and always love this takeaway shop here, much better than the Auckland fish and chip shops! Love your fish, steamed dimsims and your burgers! Also your Chinese food is good too.

Look these people have been In Eastbourne for sometime and as a true kiwi lad grew up on FNC and pies truth be told. I’m prefacing this because I know my FNC! And this is one of the best. I particularly enjoy the ordering online option which is time saving and exemplary! 9 times out of 10. And as a basic kiwi lad I’ve really only had FNC at this FNC though their menu appears to be extensive. I LOVE their shoestring fries and battered fish. If you are In Eastbourne go there!! There is an other option but … NOPE. There really is only one. But if you’d rather a pie cross the road! That bakery is another !!!!!!!!

Eastbourne's chippy. Standard fish are pretty poor, but the fresh fillets are good. Chinese food is also ok, if you don't want fish n' chips. A little expensive.
