   We celebrated our son's 2nd birthday here with a dinner for 40 guests, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They guided us in choosing the best dishes and were very flexible with our requests. Everyone had a great time, and it made the celebration truly special and memorable. Highly recommended for any special occasion!

   We went here for my 28th birthday night & I couldn’t have had a more perfect experience here. The food was out of this world & the service so attentive. We were topped up in drinks in a great way & delivered our food so quickly. The onion bahjj… yum!!! Probably the best butter chicken I’ve had in Wellington & the naan bread was scrumptious. This is a hidden delight in Petone & we couldn’t recommend it more.

   We went last night for mothers day celebration. I was with my family. It took a little while to serve the food, we understand because I use to worked in the kitchen and I know how difficult it is. My baby is a bit grumpy but all our waiting was worth it. The food is very good. It was our first time here at chili n spice and I can say that they are the best Indian restaurant I have tasted in all of Wellington.

   I’m not one to leave reviews but the staff here were incredible. It was my first dinner out with my uncle (we have a monthly curry date tradition) since I had a baby 6 months ago and I took my little one along. I was incredibly nervous about having a baby in the restaurant in case there was tears or melt downs. The staff were so kind with making sure we had a high chair, space, meals were made quickly and kept telling me that nothing is a worry with the baby. When it came time to eat our meals, (that were delicious by the way) my little man decided to get pretty vocal and wanted out of the high chair asap. One of the lovely staff mentioned he also had a new baby and asked if he could give him a little walk around the restaurant and a cuddle so I could just eat my meal. He was so kind and sweet to my son and my son seemed to love him. they just had a wander around the restaurant while waving to me. As someone that had worked in and owned a business in hospitality for many years prior to having a baby, I was so impressed with their service, ability to put me at ease when I was nervous about bringing my baby out, kindness, delicious food and just all around great service. Thank you so much for making my first dinner out with a baby a good experience and not a hectic and stressful one.

   So far this is my pick for the best curry in Petone. Chili and Spice lives up to its name in terms of heat - I normally opt for a hot curry and was happy that I went down to a medium for this visit. My bhuna chicken was delicious and pushed towards the top of my temperature tolerance. The large portions also proved to be a challenge. So lessons learned and next time we’ll be sharing a main and selecting a side each (definitely the onion bhaji). Highly recommended.
