If I could give it 0 stars I would. Unprofessional staff, health and safety issues EVERYWHERE.

Booked 3 rooms for 5 people, assumed we would all be on same level and together however 2 of the rooms were part of a 3 bedroom apartment that was shared with a tennant so we shared kitchen, bathroom and shower with a random tennant. Our other bedroom was 6 floors down shared with other randoms which we were not told about in booking. Very dirty and no refund allowed.

DO NOT STAY HERE AVOID AT ALL COSTS Where to begin CHECKIN We got to check in at 1.58 and wouldn’t get let in until 2pm on the dot. Once buzzed inside I asked for the room and parking to which I was told “you didn’t order parking you will need to find public parking but good luck because they are all full” to which I explained that I ordered the room and parking in a deal I made with booking.com and got the car with it for the weekend… after 20 min of him telling me I’m stupid I walked out and we found a place to park 200 meters up the road which cost $32 a DAY. Once back inside I asked for the room key to which I was told they would put a $200 hold on my card! (This wasn’t mentioned on the website) ROOM Then we got handed our key and walked up to a very tight hallway to wait for the elevator Once inside the room I realised how small it was a the kitchen was worse! Smaller than a caravan kitchen! The room overall wasn’t too bad the bed was old and lumpy and the pillows worse but not the worst thing I’ve slept on BINS There were no bins in site to the point we were using old bags and things for a bin and no mention on where to take our rubbish. We ended up leaving them on the table inside the bedroom. BATHROOM where to begin with this there was mold EVERYWHERE and rust on the shower curtain rail which made me not want to even step inside. For the first time in history of staying in any form of accommodation I went downstairs to the convenience store and bought some detol to spray the shit out of the shower this is when I noticed the toilet had the same mold (yuk) Onto the microwave which was full of old bits of food I’m guessing from the tenant next door! WATER As if nothing could get worse for the first 2 days of our stay there was no water from 9am till 2pm! Which meant showering at night or getting up before 9 to shower and having to buy water! CHECKOUT Lastly checkout states 9-10 am no later We walked downstairs at 9.10am and NO ONE was there at all there was a Dropbox to hand our key! And a sign that said we would have to wait up to 10 working days for the $200 back!

Convenient for university. Everything in the room was dirty, cracked, rusty or mouldy, with an unpleasant smell. Check in wanted a $200 bond even though the room was paid for, which I'd get back in ten days through the bank, or when I checked out if I wrote down my credit card details for them - seems like a scam. "Two bedroom apartment" turned out to be two of the three bedrooms in an apartment - not sure if they'd rent out the third bedroom to someone else at the same time.

Good view. Cooktop with only one burner, small fridge, bathroom and toilet separated room, cheap price. Be prepared to hear the fire alarm and go out of the building at least 3 times week and to see the police like if you were in the jail.

Cheap at $50/night, but no WiFi, not very nice bathrooms (shared), everything was old and run down, and the room was very small and not very nice either. The whole place felt dodgy, even the street it is on. Positives were a window you could open for fresh air and clean (looking) sheets. Wouldn't stay here again. Pictures look nothing like the reality.

This may be a cheap apartment, that is also student accommodation, but the place needs an overhaul. Floor carpet in the corridors are disgusting. The photos on the website don't represent the true nature of the place. The lobby floor and lift floor needed a jolly good mop. It wasnt just normal footprints bring trampled in, the dirt here is long settles into the corners. The only reason i didnt give this a 1 star was because the bed was clean and comfy and the room reasonably clean. But i didnt use the kitchenette in the shared corridor as it was run down and old, and the only good thing about the shower was that the curtain had been replaced and was clean and dry, the 2nd day i was there a bath mat had been hung up to use which was clean and dry. ALSO be aware that they ask for a $200 deposit that is refundable upon checkout. This is not mentioned in any booking info that i was sent and i was left very short on money on my trip because i HAD to pay it to stay there. I didnt have any money spare to cancel my booking and stay somewhere else at a higher price. It was inconvenient to be left with hardly any money even though i knew it would be refunded upon checkout. I wouldn't recommend being around the street outside the Apartments at night either, on your own. There were people shouting and swearing in the street one night.

My son stayed here..he brought his daughter here for a holiday. Good things: the manager let him stay even though he didn't have his ID with him (he had left it at home!), the place is close to the main shopping area of Auckland. Not so good: cockroaches in the room, aggressive, rude people staying/living there who were rude and racist toward my son and his friends. However, a complaint was laid to management about the cockroaches, because they were the main concern, and a full refund was given to my son and that is another good thing about Columbia Apartments. The reason I have given 3 stars is for each of the good things about this place. Hopefully, they will make sure it's cleaned properly for future guests and make sure the people who stay there are civilised.

I am giving this a 2 instead of a 1 because Oscar was very helpful with my rebooking because of a covid lockdown. But really this place is not good for travellers. The police were there when I left and my Uber driver told me they are often there. I didn’t really feel safe as I was on the 8th floor and was worried that one of their strange residents would set fire to the place and I didn’t know how I would get out! They insist on a $200 deposit even though I had already paid for my accomodation but to be fair Oscar has advised me he has refunded it. Although I booked a room with private bathroom I seemed to be in a group of three rooms that shared the toilet and shower. Maybe no one else was in the other 2 rooms. The lift is filthy but the room was tiny but cleanish. The sheets were clean. I was glad to leave.
