have stayed here twice now, and its now my go too. the staff are friendly, the rooms are a great size and have everything you need, Easy check in, nothing is a drama. Its walkable to everything, lower hutt shops, station village pub. close to motorway, even tho you dont hear it, theres no staff walking round, its quiet, My daughter who is 9 loves it. We have booked 1 bedroom apartment twice, it feels very homely. the only thing bad i could say is maybe a bit more attention to detail on cleanliness, but that is me OCD, its very tidy overall.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Like everyone else, no receptionist at the desk so had to call the number provided and they asked for my full credit card details on the phone which I found very odd and fishy, that has never been the case for any motels I've stayed at. The very first thing I noticed about the room we stayed in was the smell, as soon as I opened the door there was a disgusting foul smell, it was so bad that we had to immediately open all the windows and even go out of our way to buy some air freshners from the super market. The next thing, were the bugs and cobwebs. Luckily we carry flyspray in the car, killed literally 5 spiders within the first 10 minutes of being there. Fridge made some noises throughout the night but was bearable. Our bathroom & shower was fine. Nice big Tv. Overall, it was a semi decent stay.

Absolutely disgusting place! I stayed in room 32 β itβs full of bugs, everything is filthy, and itβs obvious the staff donβt care about cleaning or maintenance. The water pressure in the shower is so weak itβs almost useless. Iβm completely disgusted and angry that I even booked this hotel. Never again! No one should ever stay here

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Champers Motor Inn. Due to an Expedia double-booking error, I was charged for a room I couldnβt stay in. Both I and Expedia attempted to contact the motel multiple times for a refund, but they outright refused to cooperate. The manager was not on site and refused to speak to me directly, and was incredibly rude and unapologetic. On top of the poor customer service, the room itself was in unacceptable condition β there was visible mould in the shower, the oven didnβt work, and I even saw cockroaches. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place. There are far better options in the area that value cleanliness and basic hospitality.

Arrived late into Lower Hutt on Friday 23rd May and needed somewhere to stay for the night, my son saw Champers on the map so we went in. I wish I hadnβt! I can do dated and old, but I donβt do filthy! We were asked for a bond of $100 which seemed strange, but went with it. We went upstairs to our room, after looking around, I told my son, we canβt stay here. Went back to the office and asked for our money back. The man said he was unable to credit us back! He said he had another room, we went upstairs to the room, it was marginally better, but not much. By this time I was too tired from driving and stayed. We didnβt use any of the utensils or jug etc. The next morning we got out of there as quickly as we could. Strangely, the man we spoke with the night before was able to refund our bond. I then told him what is wrong with the place I am a professional Housekeeper and these rooms havenβt been cleaned in a very long time. I had to clean the cobwebs away from the bed in the lounge area so my son could go to bed.

Poor value for money. Highly suspicious and manual process for recording payment details. Hosts couldn't understand a relevant payment-related question let alone provide an answer. My advice: avoid and drive to the next town if you need to do so.

Clean but basic. My star rating is coloured by experience in other Motels making this stay poor value for money.

Looking for a stay over of one night or more - you will enjoy Abbeycourt. Its warm, friendly, clean and quite. Just what you need after driving many Ks. It is reasonably prices also. To ensure you have a room when you want it - I would suggest you book before hand.

Do not go here! Terrible service. Walls let in all the sound from next door, and as they were drunk pissheads, I got no sleep, not that I could've anyway with the light coming in through the curtains. Tried to leave early as I have a flight to catch, nowhere to put keys and nobody answering the intercom. Got no milk either. Would give negative stars if I could. Very disappointing

Really friendly receptionist and cleaner. Really tidy. Furnishings are dated but that's not a big deal. Shower is really clean and water is hot. Clean linen. Lots of space in the sleeping area, decent sized bathroom. Good mirrors. Internet connection is great. Down side I keep hitting my head on a light right above the bed. Also we booked a double room and it is two single beds pushed together. Great value for money, would totally book here again.
