   Stayed in room 5 Everything was good until sleep time Was paralyzed by a dark entity never experienced this ever in my life scariest experience ever Ripped tje mirror down that was directly faceing my bed explained to owner This happened 1230am never stepped foot back in there owner Said noones ever complained as if i was lyi g about it i no need to and i had never been so scared in all my life She said ppl have felt tresspassed from that room then wen partner talked to her next day as i move into another room she denied everything gave us 20 minutes to pack up and get out Rude people Rude lady Does not care wouldnt refund either I hope you encounter that entity I hope you endure what i had to go through Why is it the only hotel room with a bible also

   My daughter and I stayed here for six nights in May 2025 when she had exams at a local school. Good location that is easy walking distance to supermarket and close to public transport. Next to a busy road, but we were not bothered by traffic noise at night. The room was large, clean, and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Slightly odd set up with large windows/glass doors along one full side of the room facing directly to parked cars only a path width away. This made the rooms not very private unless you kept the curtains pulled the entire time (which then reduced the amount of natural light). The main issue with the room was the lack of active ventilation/extraction fans in the kitchen and bathroom. It quickly got damp inside as soon as you showered, boiled the kettle, or cooked. We had to leave the windows open as much as possible to try and alleviate this. Would be good if the owner added in an extraction fan above the stove and one in the bathroom.

   We had room #1, and as a result of the visit would not ever contemplate setting foot on the property again. The room was basic but tolerable apart from the important areas of kitchen, bathroom, and toilet facilities, which were 30 to 40 years old, not ventilated, smelled musty, bitterly cold without any heater, and were totally offensive. While the old wall-mounted fan heater in the sleep area made so much noise it kept us awake. One of the three coffee cups in the kitchen had not been washed and had old, dried, coffee dregs stuck in the bottom. When water from the hot tap was put into the electric jug it was cloudy and opaque, so contaminated by something in the hot water system as by contrast the cold tap provided clear water. The compendium made lengthy reference to the nearby Police services, but why was that deemed necessary? Maybe the multiple security catches on the windows said it all. The positive part of the experience was leaving in the morning.

   I stayed there last night and (many times before in the past) , every time Ive stayed at green gables the service was always excellent,the rooms were always excellent. I would highly recommend! Definitely going to go back and stay again!

   Back story: We, mother and son, are travelling around NZ and Wellington is our last stop. The accommodation that we booked prior had a problem and we needed to evacuate during the night. We were desperate to find a shelter and our local friend suggested Green Gables Motel. Service and price: When we arrived the motel, we were impressed with staff's service mind. It was a sudden request in the night before Matariki holiday. All rooms, except for one, were fully booked. They kindly arranged a room for us and charged us with only standard price. Rooms: The room is large, yet clean and fully equipped. Location: Very convenient! It is located not too far from Hutt city center, so grocery store (Pak'n'save) and other diners are within walking distance. There is also a bus stop nearby.
