My favourite Cantonese hangout if im starving in the Oak area. Just had the chicken hot fun rice noodles soup here, even though its not listed on the menu they still cooked it for me yay eh. Bloody fast dishes too. They will do anyting for your custom and listen to yor dietry needs.
I always get the fish ball noodle soup for myself and my uncle - it’s his favourite so I will drive out just for it. Parking is limited around busy times. I wish they also did deliveries because I would happily Uber Eats it! It’s affordable, a really yummy yet light meal, and the soup is umami-rich.
10/10 food and service. Can speak English and chinese very fluently. Don't let the amount of Chinese spoken here bother you. Any western people are more than welcome to eat here. Food felt incredibly healthy with the way they cook food here. Service was superb. The atmosphere can get a bit noisy but that depends on the customers. Other than that 10/10 place would recommend for anyone to visit. And price is reasonable.
We ordered the Wat Tan Hor and Two Meat (Roast Duck and Roast Pork) Combination Rice to share. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Food came out fast and the lady came around to top up on the Chinese tea. They have tables for up to four people and also a couple of bigger tables
Rice was nice but had bone fragments in it. Chicken was tender. Duck was just bones, no rich brown sauce that's it's cooked in on rice. Wontons looked extremely juicy and plump, filling was smooth, with a nice mouth feel. Unfortunately, there was no flavor , soup was hot water with a splash of sesame oil, and cabbage was sweet and fresh. Sad meal
You can tell when Asian food is authentic when the place is busy with Asian cliental!
Walked passed a trillion times and finally went in. Food ok less salty. Price average. Service was tremendous! The business was very good as the crispy pork sold out while we ate
Every dish here is highly standardised and executed with robotic precision that has remained unchanged since they first opened around 15 years ago. The shop is always open and very reliable for those busy days when you are too tired to cook. Great for large gatherings. Love their BBQ Pork and Sizzling Beef Very happy with Happy Cafe!
We ordered wanton soup and beef fried rice. It's our first meal in NZ since we arrived by flight in the morning! We could already smell the aroma of the beef fried rice from the kitchen while the chef was cooking! The beef fried rice was superbly good! The beef was juicy and tender and the fried rice was fragrant and flavourful! The wontona were huge and full of meat! The toddlers and the wife loved the food tremendously! It was a pleasant way to start our road trip in NZ! We'll definitely visit this eatery when we come back next time!
Good food for money in central Auckland. Boycott places that overcharge and come here. Good people.
