My Trip to Iraq and My Experience with the New Zealand Minister of Affairs During a recent family trip to Iraq, we welcomed a new baby. As both my wife and I hold New Zealand citizenship, I reached out to the New Zealand Minister of Affairs to request New Zealand citizenship and a passport for our son, allowing him to return with us to New Zealand. Initially, I expected the process to take a long time, but after completing the birth registration and its verification, I was genuinely impressed by how efficiently the ministry handled my request. Although the passport is still on its way to us, I am truly grateful for the ministry's efforts to facilitate this process swiftly. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Minister of Affairs, the management, and the dedicated staff of this department for their understanding and commitment to serving citizens abroad. My special thanks go to Suka, who maintained regular communication with meβher cooperation, empathy, and timely updates made the experience much smoother. This experience has reinforced my confidence in the dedication and professionalism of New Zealand's authorities in supporting their citizens worldwide. It makes me feel genuinely grateful and proud to be part of such a system.

The worst experience ever. Horrible music. Hour long waits. Non communicative. Uncaring. The worst was when they lied to cover their own backs β told us the urgent passport had been despatched when it was still sitting in their office over a long weekend.

Went into Wellington passport office but was told canβt help with queries and need an access card to even reach customer service, so rang and been on hold for 43 minutes so far. Poor customer service. Shouldnβt be this hard

Useless. Always on hold! I'm doubt they're always experiencing high call numbers. Same goes for RealMe phone calls. Kid you not, spent 20 mins everyday trying to get a hold of a PERSON with no success either one (Passport Office/RealMe). I made sure to call different times everyday. Disappointed. I just need passport information so that I can proceed with my lost passport application. Feel like swearing man!!!

I had an amazing experience this morning at the passport office. The lady who looked after us was FANTASTIC! Her name is Sue. Very friendly, very patient with my three little kids, she gave them paper and pencils to create and keep busy. She sorted our passports and helped me with other docs too. She saved my sanity and my day!!!
