Fantastic bar, amazing crew! If you'll be a Lucky Guy you'll gonna see Mike , The Big Boss, playing Bennie and The jets at the end of the night. Unbeliveable. Best drinks, wine and food.
Wanted to find a nice place to have a few cocktails after dinner with my partner, we headed down to Freida Margolis and hit the jackpot. Was a great atmosphere. Music was a good level so you didn't have to shout. Will be going back for sure.
Food looked great but we didn’t partake. This place has a really cool vibe but it is cozy. The outside spaces make it bigger. Great space for a bit of music or a drink and a bite.
Probably the weirdest jazz session in my experience. Half of the audience are yapping so loud the band obviously has a struggle concentrating. Band tries a louder melody, the yappers start straight up yell over it. The staff doesn't seem to notice and do anything. Couldn't hear any of the bass solos because of yelling. Unfortunately had to leave. Drinks are good though. Also the band seemed to be very smooth.
A very Qauint pub situated in a nice corner of Grey Lynn... Usually go on a Thursday when they have a Jazz Night.. Great Vibes....staff super friendly...and a great selection of Beers n Wines...
Walked here after dinner Sunday night thinking great place for a night cap, didn’t realise they were holding ticketed event, nothing mentioned on the outside . Cautiously walked in to have a look only have the a rude guy push us out with no chance for us to say anything. In hindsight wish I heckled. Rude and uncalled for. Lucky the bar down the road was open and very accomodating. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend
Entered not realising the bar was holding a ticketed event.Really rude staff member pushed us out. Asked if we had a ticket, then said you need to leave without giving us a chance to say a word. Definitely need to work on how they treat people really disappointing behaviour.
Not many bars boast an atmosphere like this one, old jazz style with great drink options, the barman really knows what he's doing! Records playing, piano playing, sheltered outdoor area. All round a super spot for a drink!
Came here for a jazz night - wonderful vibe, wonderful staff, yummy pizza, yum cocktails. Only gripe would be the small tables that couldn’t fit much food/drinks at once but the place is meant to be intimate! Was a $5 koha for the live music but if you didn’t want to pay that you were still able to be seated outside.
Had such a wonderful time last night, it would be unjust not to make it known! The staff have perfected the art of hospitality. The baba ganoush was delectably smokey and our cocktails were faultless. An absolute treat, thank you!
