I’ve been going to Greg at Ryder for around 17 years now and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. The whole team are always so friendly and welcoming. Greg is hands down the best cutter I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Always love coming here. Reception always recognise me and help me with product of my stylist is busy and it's crazy that they know my hair type better than me. The team are always friendly and I always feel relaxed in the salon whether I'm arriving from a hospital shift, a workout or whether I look the part. I love the diverse style of the team because despite the upmarket reputation of the business and quality of the work, they make hair work for real people. My stylist Shelden meets me where I'm at. I love our chats. He keeps it real. I love that whenever I leave our appointments people tell me I look good rather than "you've had your hair done". Not only does my hair look better than I ever imagined it could, it's true to the rest of my aesthetic and versatile i that it looks great in all the different spaces I occupy in my life. The colour is to die for fresh and 8 weeks later I'm getting it done because I want to, rather than because it's dead obvious it's overdue. My hair is healthier and more luscious than it's ever been after being looked after by him for over a year now. I'm especially happy with this as he's the third stylist I've had there (people moved overseas and had babies) and historically I've needed to change salons to find my next hair guru. He works with me and my naturally curly hair and I love that my boyfriend loves how Shelden does my hair. I wish there were more stars!
Ryder Salon is like a small luxury get away in downtown Auckland. The salon is stylish and they give the best head massages mascarading as a shampoo. I have been going to my hairdresser for 30 years - Nicholas Macauley- and I would not trust anyone else with my hair. He is a superstar...and an interesting conversationalist. I would recommend to anyone - although pricey - its totally worth it.
I was welcomed in a friendly way and allowed to sit and wait as I was early and offered a drink too. I was shown to my seat on time and fortunate enough to have the accomplished Ben to tame my voluptuous hair volume. He completed exactly what I was after and provided a lively conversation.

Greg is a true professional, he has so much talent! My hair is always cut with the perfect amount of layering and to the perfect length. Every time, I walk out absolutely loving my hair.
This is my second time seeing Ben, he is super amazing! I love my curls, he shaped them perfectly and explained every step. He is super respectful of how you are with your hair and how much effort do you want. I won't trust my hair to anyone else.
