    As my email has clearly been ignored after giving ample time (nearly a week) to respond will just post it here: My partner and I came on Sunday the 23rd of November to watch Wicked: For Good at the 6:40 screening, a few things went wrong throughout the night that honestly made the whole outing absolutely awful and I missed a decent chunk of the movie because I had to leave the cinema multiple times to have our issues addressed. Firstly we were told when we arrived that we'd be able to order on demand in the cinema with the QR code, we were informed there were being some slight teething issues but that is a drastic understatement, we entered the cinema about 6:45 as the cleaning was taking longer, sat down and went to order food and drinks only for the QR code to say it's still on the previous session and couldn't order and so we waited until it switched to the current session which was at the same time as the movie starting, it then said we had to wait until 7:20 (it was currently 6:50) to order, this was frustrating already as we were never informed of any wait to order and we didn't want to get up to order and miss part of the movie and so we waited, at 7:20 we could then order but most of the menu was missing and was only showing vegetarian sliders and sides such as fries, my partner and I both order a cocktail each and he ordered m&M's too and we wait a little bit to see if the food just had to be loaded to the site, after about 10 minutes I decide to go to the bar and inform about this (there was no apology, either) and order while I'm there which of course meant I did have to miss part of the movie in the end anyway and also defeated the entire purpose of having on demand ordering entirely (which is why we came),my cocktail comes not long after I get back to my seat but my partners still doesn't come, after another 15 minutes or so I go to the bar to ask about the cocktail, it turns out they had misplaced the docket but they apparently found it, I go back to my seat and order a glass of wine not long after just to see if my partners cocktail would come at the same time, my wine still came first and then my partners cocktail followed 5-10 minutes later, but no m&M's to be seen at all, after the ending of the movie my partner went to the bar to ask about the m&M's, in response he was given the wrong flavour and a chuckle apology, this should have been an instant offer of refund as why would we want it after the movie? All these issues separately are frustrating but collectively made for an absolutely awful night and what felt like a complete waste of money as we were hungry for half the movie and incredibly frustrated by the awful service throughout the night.

    Outstanding customer service from Lucy the manager at Ponsonby Silky Otter. She couldn’t have been more kind, friendly and keen to assist. Everyone needs a Lucy as their store manager. Thank you Lucy really appreciate you.

    I went with my partner to watch "The Roses " movie, it was a great experience with friendly staff and a good size cinema. The recliners were comfy and the food we had was of a good standard. We will be back.

    Ever since Silky Otter opened we have supported it and been several times. The chairs, comfort, serene environment is luxurious and yes you pay for it..love having drinks before and then delivered during the movie..what I haven’t enjoyed is people eating noisily and crunching on food (chicken?) while I’m watching the movie..it’s just a bit invasive, smelly and gross. Maybe it was the guy next to me and his chewing etc..!!! I have been surprised by the lack of festival or β€œcooler” type movies..we would def go more often if they had in my opinion better choices on offer. All in all a great addition to Ponsonby and a positive experience.

    We hosted our work social club event at Silky Otter Ponsonby - Booked out two cinemas and had drinks and nibbles before the movie. SO GOOD! The Silky Otter team made sure it was just how we wanted, catered to our dietary requirements and made us all feel super welcome! Highly recommend for any other work places looking for somewhere nice to take their team.

    I just loved that place ! Very intimate cinema. The seats are soooo comfy and the restaurant is great. You can order when watching a movie.

    So happy to have a cinema so close to where we live. If you want a great night out, go early and eat in their restaurant where they have a yummy tapas menu. Not cheap, but very tasty & worth the spend. Cinema is awesome with electric comfy chairs that come with a tray table and light.
