   Wow I've never been to such a filthy studio? Smells bad, like rotten cheese or something, weird vibes from the people, I'd go elsewhere

   This place is AWFUL! I was hoping they would approach this issue with sympathy and care, but have been met with arrogance, avoidance, and rudeness. An arrogant egotistical owner (Hamish McLachlan @theblackcloud) and a cowardly (talented) artist (@ryuntattoo) have proven themselves to be untrustworthy of your skin. An important element from my design, and the stencil, was not carried over into the final tattoo. The theme was balance, so each design choice was reflected on the opposite side. What was missed, as you can see in the photos, is the white/skin seeping up the bottom of the black half of the snake, just like there is black seeping down the top of the white/skin half. Two weeks ago I sent a polite email explaining this issue, and that it bothered me, and inquired what fixes could be possible. I received no response. Yesterday I messaged Ryun on Instagram, again politely asking if he had received any feedback. He said his boss would get back to me, then blocked me. Tired of waiting, I called the studio today, and was absolutely shocked by how Hamish, the owner, talked to me. There was disdain in his voice, the opposite of sympathy, it was antagonism. He said "I won't be able to respond to your email for another week" and that he couldn't talk now as he had a customer. This makes no sense, if you need that long to respond, firstly, you just send a quick email saying you're busy but will respond soon. Also, in no world does it make sense to take 3 weeks to engage with a customer whose skin has ink on it in places they didn't pay for. This guy was SO rude! When I asked if this was really how he was going to respond, he said we should just "leave this here". Very aggressive and dismissive, blatantly thinks I'm an idiot not worth his time. He disagreed that any mistakes had been made. He was so unpleasant and mean, it was genuinely disturbing. Something is wrong with this man, ego is immense, compensating? What's really let me down is the customer service. The initial mistake is a thing that happens sometimes. Not great but what matters is how you handle it afterwards. They handled it by ignoring me, blocking me, and then spitting in my face over the phone while making it very clear that they don't care. If I could sue them I would. 100% AVOID THIS STUDIO

   I can’t recommend Ray at destruction gully tattoos in Auckland, highly enough! My daughter recently had a large back piece done by Ray, and the whole experience was incredible from start to finish. Ray is not only a true artist but also a perfectionist in the best possible way. He listened carefully to her ideas, offered creative suggestions, and transformed her vision into something beyond what we could have imagined. The level of detail, precision, and artistry in the tattoo is absolutely breathtaking – it’s a masterpiece she’ll be proud to wear for life. The studio itself is immaculate, professional, and welcoming. Everyone on the team made her feel comfortable and at ease throughout the long session.
