   I wouldn't hire from Brides on Thorndon again. We hired our mens suits for our Wedding in April 2023. Firstly, I agree with all the other feedback that Jenny is amazing. Jill, the owner, however let us down and caused me a great amount of stress. We booked in our final suit fitting and flew up our son from Christchurch for the morning for the fitting. Jill failed to write the booking in her book and although they advertise they open at 10am on a Saturday, they weren't!. We waited 35 minutes outside. We rang and left messages and emailed. There is no mobile contact number for anything urgent, so we left to try to get suits elsewhere. We were called just before 11am to be told Jenny and Jill were now there. They had gone out for coffee. Jenny looked very apologetic, however Jill was adamant that as the owner she could shut up shop get coffee as she pleased. When I questioned her as to why there is no mobile number so people could contact them inside of working hours, I was told she didn't want to be on call to everyone and anyone. I felt completely dismissed by Jill and I found her attitude unprofessional. There are other options and as you cant guarantee that Jill will be open, or contactable, I would definitely look elsewhere. Its just too stressful dealing with her. BTW- the boys did look amazing and the only stress in organizing our wedding was dealing with Jill.

   My mother, sisters and I had a wonderful experience at Brides on Thorndon. We found both the ladies very helpful and I ended up buying the very first dress they chose for me. It was such a special moment for us all and I couldn’t thank them enough.

   I just want to say what fantastic and fabulous experience I had here was so helpful , I found my beautiful dress in my first visit with the fabulous help from these ladies, They are fantastic, super kind, and caring, since the first day I felt super welcome and warm, plus the prices and quality of the dresses are excellent. thanks so much for all the help I highly recommend Brides on Thorndon & Major Tomms Suit Hire in Cambridge Terrace , here a few photos about my wedding day.    Had a fabulous experience at Brides on Thorndon. I tried on wedding dresses with my then 23 year old son, and we had such a great experience, something I will never forget doing with my son. I came out in the dress I ended up buying, which was totally different to what I had pictured. I felt so comfortable and right on our wedding day! Very happy with the whole experience!

   I bought my wedding dress from Jill and her team in May 2019. After looking in several other more boutique stores first, I wish I had just come here from the beginning. The design and price range were both large so I think it will cater for many people. The store itself is also quite big so easy to try multiple things on quickly if you are like me and got sick of the whole process. The price and quality was excellent but most of all the generous helpful staff. Thanks Jill, I highly recommend Brides on Thorndon (now on Cambridge Tce)
