Super helpful friendly staff. We're new parents to a beautiful cocker spaniel pup. We were clueless in knowing what food would be appropriate and so they gave us really good advice on the brands that offer best nurtional value and taste for her.
I had the most incredible customer service experience at Animates Kaiwharawha thanks to Walter. As first-time dog owners, my family and I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the choices and questions we had about caring for Lulu. Most pet stores we've visited in the past haven't been very helpful or considerate of our questions, which made us leave unsure and worried we weren't doing the right things. Walter completely changed that. He knew exactly what I was asking, reassured us, and helped us make a plan for feeding Lulu with the right mix of wet and dry food. He answered all our grooming questions, gave fantastic advice on treats and toys, and just knew everything about dogs. His friendly, knowledgeable, and caring approach made us feel like we mattered. I was so impressed that I could have bought the entire store! Walter’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine care are truly exceptional. He even carried our bags to the car, which was such a lovely touch. Thanks to him, shopping for Lulu was enjoyable and stress-free, and I’ll definitely be coming back for any future needs. Honestly, if every customer service experience was like Walter’s, our country’s service standard would be so much higher. Thank you, Walter, for your amazing help — you’re a true asset to your team!

I took my two chihuahuas here today to get their nails clipped and I also brought them a dog harness each. I was served by the lovely Kimberly who helped me with fitting the harnesses and also with carrying one of them out to my car( I’m currently injured with a back problem). Really appreciated your help Kimberly and also the nice guy who clipped their nails. I will be back. Great shop with helpful staff.
Great location, well priced with supportive staff. I'm training a red Border Collie out of aggression and the past 4 months she has been perfect, the staff allowed her to walk around the shop so she can be use to people then followed with another Border Collie who is afraid of shops especially the dog wash (he is very friendly)
This store is great. It has a huge product range & great regular specials which help with my budgeting. The store is centrally located & is very spacious. I usually call ahead & have the main item I wish to purchase put aside so that I know it is stock & ready for collection, this cuts down my shopping time. I also love that all Animates stores have a shared database so your purchase records are combined. Quality goods & prices. I also know the staff do their best to look after their clients in a medical emergency, because once that was me & I am forever greatful.
This is concerning their vet. While the store itself is wonderful, the vet today was simply awful. Our dog finished being on antibiotics and we were booked in by Animates to take a urine test for him once his antibiotics were finished. We were then told upon arrival that we need to bring the urine in ourselves and that the test can’t be done until Friday because 3 days need to pass after having taken the antibiotics entirely. Then, for no more than 5 mins of conversation and a sudden and brief listen to our dog’s heart, they charged us the cost for a full check-up even though they didn’t deliver at all the purpose of the appointment, but instead charged us for taking up 5 mins of their time.
I absolutely love this pet supplies store! The layout is fantastic, with plenty of space to move around and a huge range of products. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they truly care about the well-being of pets. The store is always impeccably clean, and the parking is easy and convenient. Most importantly, they offer great value for money, especially on everyday supplies like bulk cat litter. I cannot recommend this store highly enough to pet owners in the area. This is where you need to shop.

I have gone to many vets in the past but Vet care Kaiwharawhara takes 1st place! Dr. Leo and the rest of the wonderful team are AMAZING! you can really tell they care and love what they do. My poor Cookie was hit by a car, but thanks to them and the After hours clinic, he was back on his feet in no time! Thank you guys!
