Very average cafe at Zealandia. The highlight was the cabinet food, you’re generally getting what you see in the window which is good. The toasted bacon and avocado panini was the best item, soft and fluffy with crisp edges and loads of bacon, avocado and spinach. The millionaire slice was a chocolate caramel slice (not a millionaire slice) but you could see that before you got it, chocolate and caramel layer good but the base was mealy with coconut and ground nuts. The salmon avo bagel was good for filling, but bagel dry. The barista drinks were below average. Bitter coffee and not balanced well with other components. Maple ice latte did not taste of maple at all, and tried a friend’s ice coffee and it was the same. Ice chocolate was below average, literally just milk mixed with chocolate powder and too much ice. Didn’t even put cream or chocolate sauce on top, which I saw they did for someone else, so appears to be inconsistent service. Low effort. Would not recommend any of the barista drinks here. Burger was average, very spicy with mustard for some reason, and the loaded fries were good (but simple). Service was average, second attendant didn’t add my membership card, and things took quite a while to come out. Service was inconsistent; went earlier in the day and saw coffees presented different from the afternoon, differences in toppings and mixed or not mixed properly, and amount of ice. Prices were okay. Overall, I would recommend going to somewhere else before coming to Zealandia as the food and service at Rātā are below average. Probably best to come here for light cabinet food or freezer ice creams.

Came for Zealandia, stayed for the Cafe. While I cant say its the most affordable dining experience if you come with a kids, its certainly well worth the price. This was one of the best GF burger buns. The contents of the burger were superb as well. I would order from here instead of Burger Fuel, personally. Coffees were great. Service was fast. The view *chefs kiss* And you can hang out with some feathered friends while you enjoy your lunch.

To start off people serving today didn’t look very happy. I asked for cabinet food (sweet) to have it with my coffee, it took ages to come out. I asked the wait staff for it and her answer was “there are a bunch of order backing up, your order should get out soon”. Okay, I’ll wait a bit longer…my coffee is finished, and I see the waitress walking around and talking with her co-workers by the coffee machine or refilling the water bottles, honestly! There are priorities when you do customer service! - maybe she could grab the brownie from the cabinet and bring it out but instead my husband had to go to the counter and that’s when they obviously saw him with the number and said to him “your order should be coming out now”. Please work on your customer service.

a wow of WOAP! vegetable chips and vegan mayo taste amazing, almost want to order more, the GF burger also devine, patty extremely crispy, kale and roast almonds gave some nice texture, price is very reasonable!

Overpriced. Limited options $25 Egg Benedict was just with two slices of sad sourdough bread and some bacon n eggs with horrible sauce. Don’t waste your money. $9 steak pie tastes just like supermarket frozen one, boring and overpriced Tomato and roasted capsicum soup was fab, recommend. Good coffee

Great little Cafe attached to Zealandia. There is a menu with made to order food and a display case with pre-made sandwiches and pies for about half the price of the made to order. Nice choice of seating. Food was very good and the portions were well sized, if you're a light eater you probably could split most things.

They were operating on a reduced menu for New Year's Day, but the quality didn't suffer. Delicious, well presented, and didn't take too long to arrive. Great reason to fuel up before heading out on the tracks.

Gorgeous setting, and very comfortable. Relaxing after an awesome walk through Zealandia. Although COVID staff shortages prevented them from offering hot food today, the pastries and coffee were just what we wanted.

We went to Zealandia for our marriage anniversary and started our day with brunch there. The service was absolutely amazing: kindly staff, nice and prompt service. Food there was average and the portion size was ok. We ordered three mains and one dessert which just fueled us but not to a complete satisfaction. Overall it's a good experience.
