Probably the best yum cha spot in Auckland! The food quality here is definitely a step above other well-known places. We came for a Saturday brunch with my family and my wife's family, and the place was already busy right from opening at 11am. Every table was full by lunchtime, so I was glad we had made a booking! Ordering was super easy using their QR code system, which showed clear photos of each dish. It was really helpful for choosing what we wanted. We ordered quite a variety, including their popular black truffle dumplings, steamed prawn dumplings, Mr. Lobster deep-fried prawn paste in shredded pastry, deep-fried spicy beans for salad, and a lobster congee to share, along with a few more dishes (not all pictured). Dish highlights: - Black Truffle Dumplings: Absolutely my favourite! There are two versions, and both were rich, fragrant, and full of truffle aroma - a must-try. - Steamed Prawn Dumplings: Fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked - classic done right. - Deep-Fried Prawn Pastry (Mr. Lobster): Super crispy on the outside and beautifully tender inside. Loved every bite. - Spicy Beans for Salad: Crispy, flavourful, and surprisingly addictive. - Lobster Congee: Smooth, comforting, and generous with lobster - perfect for sharing. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff were friendly, quick, and attentive. They took the time to answer our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. I have been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. They do yum cha only in lunch time, so it was important to us meeting in lunch time. The only downside is that prices are higher than other yum cha places, but the quality and flavour kinda justify it. Highly recommended, and make sure to book ahead.

Recently had dinner at this Chinese restaurant. The highlight of the meal was the roast duck. The meat was incredibly tender, and the skin was perfectly crispy, just the right balance of flavor and texture. The staff were attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and everything came out piping hot and fresh.

Always busy here. But we were able to get a table without waiting long. They are very efficient and courteous. The food is well prepared, presented, delicious and generous. Price is a bit on the high side but again generous servings. Ordering is a breeze with the QR code system and you know what you are paying for. Just make sure tea charging is for the right number of people. I have to say again they are very efficient!

We visited Mr Lobster’s Private Kitchen a few weeks ago with a group of family and friends (there were nine of us). We made a booking in advance and were seated at a large table with a lazy Susan, which made sharing easy. We ordered a range of dishes from the menu—everything sounded amazing, and each dish had its own unique flavour. The standout for us was definitely the Peking duck. The crispy skin, juicy meat, and the combination with the wrap and veggies were just perfect. We also really enjoyed the green beans, roast pork, spicy chicken, and BBQ fried noodles—they were all packed with flavour. The only downside was the slow service. It seemed like dishes were being made and served one table at a time, which is understandable, but with so many other groups there, it meant we waited over 30–40 minutes before the food started arriving. A bit longer than we’re used to, even at busy places. That said, once the food came, it was worth the wait—just something to keep in mind if you're heading there during peak hours.

Would have been 5* if the abalone was braised longer, too tough. Also, noodles portion was very small, please be more generous.

Yum char was a bit more expensive than usual, but really fun with the creative presentation. It's a nice place to bring visitors, good idea to book though!

First time here. Place was crazy busy. Food was on point. Great portions, decent service. Order via QR code for yum cha. A tad pricey compared to other yum cha locations around Auckland I've been to. 4.5 out of 5 my rating. Recommended.

The staff members are friendly, patience, and accommodating. Their food are unique. Some have stunning designs, and all are flavourful. So far is the most expensive yum char in Auckland, especially their signature dishes; but it's made to impress your eyes as well as your taste buds. They also have yum char dishes that are priced competitively, but still full of flavours. A new favourite yum char place for my family.
