Tried DDG for the first time. My breakfast was good, however my friends scrambled eggs were very watery, obviously didn't use milk and cream, and the espresso coffee was weak. TOB coffee and bread were good. Asked for tap water but was told we had to buy bottled water. Table service was interesting being served by a 10 year old who didn't really know what was happening. No cutlery, napkins, sugar and dirty tables. Hygiene standards were an issue.

The food was absolutely amazing. My friend and I got the lunch specials which was so affordable and worth every $! The owner is also such a sweet and friendly person. I also got their sausage bun which was delicious! Definitely going to go back soon! Delicious coffee!

Today's visit was a bit of a mixed bag. I saw an ad for the express lunch with protein and veggies for $11.50. I came from West Auckland to try it. I looked at some online reviews and photos and saw like a tasting flight of 5 different iced coffees, which looked enticing. They were old photos from years ago. When I arrived all the tables were full, but nobody was waiting. I asked for the express lunch and the owner recommended the spicy chicken, because I couldn't really make up my mind. I asked about the coffee tasting and he said no, that hasn't been done in about 5 years. I asked if all those are still available, I don't mind paying individually. The photo had iced coffee that was green, brown, purple, orange, and one more. The owner gave me the menu and said go sit down, read through the menu and then order. There was a lady behind me and it seems I was holding up the queue. She ordered and I ordered the tiramisu iced coffee. It was very very windy and there were no tables inside. The owner said I should sit outside for now, and if a table becomes available, he will move me. A table opened up and he immediately called me over. The food came very quickly (within about 5 - 7 minuted) and my table wasn't wiped yet. I asked the waiter if he could wipe it, and he said sure. There wasn't any veggies with my dish, so I asked the waiter. He said some of the express lunch proteins came with a salad instead of veggies. I said I didn't know that and I wanted veggies. He asked if I wanted a separate bowl of veggies and I said yes please. So that was nice. The chicken was soft and quite nice, with just the slightest hint of spice. The salad was good enough. The rice was dry. There was some sauce on the table and some soy sauce in the veggies. When I poured this over the rice, it was good. The veggies were fine. The iced coffee was the best part! It was strong and bitter, but very creamy with the ice cream. It didn't taste like tiramisu at all, but it was really good, and I enjoyed it. During my meal the owner exploded over something and was yelling and screaming at the staff, throwing things around, walking up and down and outside the restaurant and back, yelling. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. When I walked out, I took some photos of the restaurant. Earlier it was too busy and I don't like accidentally getting people in the shot. The owner showed me some sort of (I think) tea, explained how to make it, and gave me a complimentary one. There were ups and downs with the visit. Downs: the shouting, the rice wasn't good (at first), and I wasn't aware I wouldn't get veggies. Ups: the great coffee, the extra bowl of veggies, the interesting comped drink.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and decided to give it a go. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming! We absolutely loved the banh mi and coffee. The owner even took the time to explain the coffee-making process, which was such a thoughtful touch! Definitely worth giving this local gem a try!

Food tastes really good and was good value for money! Owner was quite nice as well. The pho had big chunks of beef and banh mi tasted so good and quite big! Fried spring rolls was really crispy and good! We will definitely go back!

Wish we had tried this place earlier! Food was amazing and so affordable! Full of flavour and great portions. Service was 10/10. It was busy when we arrived but the food still came out quick! Will definitely be back again.

Wowser. Writing this while still in the cafe and feeling so satisfied. The meat lovers bah mi was fantastic. The coffee was excellent. And it only cost $11.50! Can't beat that. Service was fast and the decor is simple but inviting. Loved it.

The Vietnamese salad is so delicious with generous amount of pork belly and spring rolls. The spring roll is crispy outside with pork mince and carrot fillings. The crispy wrapping is not what you can get from the supermarket, sooo special and yummy! I love how they serve the salad dressing on the side so that I can pour in the amount I want! The lady in the cafe is super busy but still friendly. I will definitely come back.
