Annabelles is underrated. Maybe, things have changed recently, I donβt know. Letβs start with the location. Great view on the bay, and if you like it, watching people and their vehicles pass by. The service is stellar, a couple of attentive waitresses complete a fast kitchen. The food, I need to come back to try the Korean side of the menu. I just had the avocado and hash browns. It had a sweet sauce as decoration. I would expect a balsamico vinegar reduction if there was a sweet sauce, not red berryβs. No complaint on the avocado smash. The menu is split in western cafe vs Korean dishes like bibimbap.

Been here a couple of years ago and had great experience so came back again today - unfortunately it was rather disappointing. No one checked on how our food was throughout the meal - every staff member seemed very busy. I was also charged the wrong price for my cocktail; I ordered a virgin version but was charged for the alcoholic one. Even after I pointed it out, there was no apology or acknowledgment. The pork belly was quite disappointing β for $39.50, the portion was small, and even the rice was less than half a bowl. The burger was also underwhelming; the patty lacked both texture and the expected lamb flavour, also canβt taste the flavour of mint sauce which we were looking forward to. No one came by to check on us once, so I thought Iβd leave my feedback here instead. On a positive note, the crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e and seafood chowder were both tasty, but overall, it wasnβt a pleasant dining experience.

Most restaurants situated by beachfronts exploit their location as an excuse to be overpriced and mediocre. Annabelles challenges this pattern, as the restaurant staff exhibit a strong drive to serve the neighborhood community. The restaurant offers an interesting variety of main courses at seemingly-wanting portion sizes, but the quality and deliciousness make the items' price points fair. The interior design is cozy and well-suited for the beachside location as well. We look forward to trying more mains and desserts in the near future.

Great service and delicious food. The layout is confusing and causes congestion as those wishing to pay block the entrance. It was quite busy when we went and the gentleman at front of house, seated us, took our order, delivered our meal and cleared the table. He did this both indoor and outdoor. It seemed he was doing the work of at least 3 people.

Great service, friendly staff. Halloumi bao buns were great, coriander fish cakes were not too greasy which is great, but tasted more like hash browns rather than fish cakes and duck spring roles were not great at all. Spring rolls were wrapped in filo pastry which made them too oily and tasted more duck fat. Almond hit chocolate tasted good and we had a great recommendation of bubbles.

Way overpriced, and very small disappointing meal sizes. Spent $19.50 on smashed avocado and eggs which I was quite looking forward to, normally spend that much on a dish like that but Iβve never been so heartbroken to see such a small portion size when it arrived. Was half the size of what I was expecting. A thin small piece of sourdough, and a sadly very small amount of sludgy mushy avocado. The eggs were nicely poached though, and tasted fresh. Muffin was stodgy and chewy (clearly microwaved) coffee took 20 minutes to Come out and tasted like it had come from a machine not a barista. I liked that they roast their own coffee beans but to be honest, I donβt think we will be returning. Prices are wrong and food quality low. Photos with hand for size reference.

The breakfast I had was not good, to put it nicely. Felt like it was made by someone with no training. $21 for this? The avocado tasted very odd - some additive in it I think to make it go further, there was no plating or garnishing. My friends breakfast was a tiny serving and her coffee didn't arrive till after we had finished eating. The view was nice and the muffins okay too (which we ordered straight after breakfast since the breakfast serving size left us hungry). I would only do drinks and muffins if I ever came back - definitely not breakfast/brunch.

Excellent friendly service. Nice setting and ambience. I had the steak pie and loved it. Friends also had the pie or the salmon. One had the crumble for dessert and reported it good. Will be back and next time will choose one of their delicious looking desserts as well as the main.

Great location near the beach and great views of Rangitoto. On a sunny day you can enjoy sun in the afternoon. The food was ok but the portions were very small for the price and the drink wasn't anything special. The service wasn't very good as our waitress was not friendly at all. The 3 stars are mostly because of the location.
