“This review is a long time coming; in 2017 my wife and I traveled to New Zealand for the BI Lions Tour. She wanted something special to take home from the trip, and I’ve been married long enough to know that’s her code for jewelry. The concierge at our hotel suggested that we go to Palmerston and gave us a short list of jewelers to choose from. We chose Sutclift and we could not have been happier! We weren’t quite sure what we wanted but knew it had to be something that said New Zealand. My wife chose to have a white gold silver fern necklace custom made. When we picked it up we were astonished at the detail of the fern! The craftsmanship was exquisite My wife has had countless compliments on the piece and proudly wears it often. Shortly after we picked up the piece we took a helicopter ride with Richie McCaw and he mentioned that Sutclift Jewelers made the wedding rings for he and his wife. So take it from me (and second hand from Sir Richie) Sutclift is the place to go for good jewelry.”

“I Am just totally over the moon with Morris and Watson. First off they were so great and accomodating especially moving between casting companies (it can be very nerve wracking when you have 90 moulds and there is only two choices in NZ!). The customer service is impeccable, i was worried about sending my moulds up from Wellington and Antonia even offered to pick them up when she was here next! Robyn in castings has been incredible and even catalogued all my moulds and took pics of the waxes, just going beyond to make working with them a dream! The castings are incredibly detailed, with a soft and silky texture that makes it a breeze to clean up. I’m honestly kicking myself for not moving here earlier, now I see why so many great jewellers use them! Thank you so much guys and I am looking forward to a long relationship with you! I also posted a pic here of some of the castings for comparison so you can judge them for yourself! (Theirs are the shiny ones!).”

I initially went in just to have a look, but I had to leave the store to get my wallet from the car, then returned and made three purchases. I felt it was very good value, and my daughter loves the gold cushion I bought her. I'm looking forward to wearing my scarf in winter. If ever in Dunedin I'd return, the shop is also in a pretty coastal location slightly off the main road. ☺”
