“The Family Store is wonderful on its own, but what truly makes it special is Tatiana. She’s the heart and soul of the shop. I’ve never met someone so warm, caring, and genuinely helpful. She always checks in with people, asks how they’re doing, and goes out of her way to help them find exactly what they need. Her kindness creates such a welcoming atmosphere, you can feel it the moment you walk in. My daughter absolutely loves Tatiana. Ever since our very first visit, she’s been excited to go back every week, not just for the treasures in the shop, but to see Tatiana. She has a beautiful way of connecting with people, especially children, that makes them feel safe and valued. I’ve also noticed that many customers come in simply because they enjoy talking with her. She makes everyone feel seen and appreciated, and it’s obvious how much the community loves her. I honestly believe that a lot of people donate to the store not just to support the shop, but as a quiet thank-you to Tatiana for her kindness and genuine care.”

If you get chatting, she will give you wonderful service and provide so much interesting history about all the garments. I have since learnt that someone up the road from my place has received the package and helped themselves to my son's jacket. They have decided to be an awful human being and keep the jacket for themselves. So I would like to change my review and thank you for sending me a new jacket without taking payment or accepting payment and making sure I receive it (which I have). “We often visit this shop as we have family on Waiheke. The kids love buying affordable jewellery for their friends and it's a great place to get some clothing suitable for the island. We have always felt welcome there and the staff play a good second role as a tourist information service. The fact that it is quirky and unusual and a far cry from the chain stores in the city is a bonus . It is a small , busy shop and in these Covid times maintaining social distancing must be difficult to manage. It is great that Waiheke has managed to keep the local shops going as it is such a huge part of the village charm.”
