5 stars all over! Fantail Lodge is a beautiful place to stay and relax. Tessa and Vic are amazing hosts, so kind and friendly. They offer very clean, tidy and warm cottages to stay in and make you feel at home. Highly recommended!
I came here for found a place for discover the peninsula and with the precious advice of Tessa and Vic we succeed. The lodge is really cozy spacious and cute. Special mention for the spa, which is very pleasant with the sunset. The garden is really appreciate with the sound of the bird on the morning Tessa and Vic are kind host and take attention of all your questions and request.
Absolutely delightful Bellbird cottage that we stayed in, spotless and very fresh. The host Vic and Tessa were just lovely, warm and friendly and balanced this with your privacy perfectly. The surrounding bush setting was so peaceful and relaxing. The spa pool was the icing on the cake. No faults with this stunning cottage accommodation. We will certainly be going back.
Lovely accommodation on the peninsular. Really enjoyed the spa pool after a long day travelling. Sitting out on the porch in the sun with the birds around me was lovely. Not far to go to see the albatross colony and on the way is Cove Cafe in Portobello where we had an excellent breakfast. The small store in Portobello is better stocked than I expected with Dilmah extra strength Earl Grey!
The excellent reviews reflect the care and thought with which the gentle and thoughtful hosts, Tessa and Vic, have created and maintain this beautiful oasis of calm just a short scenic drive along the peninsular from Dunedin. I couldn't fault anything and look forward to returning when we next visit. We stayed in Fantail Cottage which is utterly charming, light, airy and comfortable. It is surrounded by a garden and completely private. I recommend the 9pm Blue Penguin tour at the Royal Albatross centre and a drive to Allan's beach where we saw sealions.
Perfectly located and very comfortable piece of paradise close by prestine highlights of the Dunedin area. Owner was a wildlife guide himself, so very knowledgable about sea lions, pinguïns and albatrosses (and much more) which are all a short ride away. Tessa and Victor are great hosts and look after you, so you'll have a great stay. Highly recommended!
