An untoasted piece of sourdough, some plain lettuce leaves, a sliver of tomato, cheap bacon cooked until it was hard & virtually impossible to cut, 2 poached eggs & lukewarm coffee. The only redeeming feature of this disappointing brunch that both myself & my daughter in law ordered were the eggs, soft cooked with nice bright orange yolks. The cafe was cold on a winter's morning & for $63 (for 2) I expected to at least get decent quality bacon, hot coffee and a more appetising layer than just plain lettuce leaves plonked under the bacon. Plenty of excellent cafes to choose from in lovely Havelock North so we won't be back to this below average, over priced one.

About Us
On the plate at At E's Cafe, the idea is Thai-inspired and well executed. Coffee pours are consistent and well textured. Stir-fries keep good heat and snap. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Portions are generous yet well judged.

I ordered decaf cappa, with cinnamon...got cinnamon with sugar coating...not my thing for how I have my coffee. It was kindly replaced when I explained my coffee ix sugar free,.. no straight cinnamon available )?), not even in the kitchen (?)and the replaced coffee itself was bitter, old yuck...sorry , left it. My pancakes were not nicely presented, and what's pancakes without cream (?)...first time ever to have pancakes without cream... I'm aware it's not stated on the menu, but just not yummy enough .. The syrup didn't taste likea genuine Maple Syrup either...too sugary. Also the surcharge yesterday, easter, so I paid a lot of $$ for a very disappointing breaky.. Not going back..staff, very young, kind, .. And for the price of the pancakes, better presentation, with sufficient cream and maple, maybe to reconsider...

It was just OK. Food was pretty plain, bacon was yum. Coffee was OK, but a bit weak for me. While the atmosphere is eclectic, a lot of furniture was ripped and worn out. Clean, service was great, but not in a rush to go back.

Best place for breakfast and a coffee in Havelock North. Great coffees, loved the Big Breakfast. Wheelchair and dog friendly. Nice outdoor seating in the sun. Lots to love about this place!

Mediocre at best. Wedges were undercooked, cinnamon roll was dry. Staff walked right past with my order and left it sitting on a random table for a good 3-5 mins. Milk shake was the best part of the meal. Great place if you want to see cheeky sparrows come steal your food.

Ordered a half breakfast as that is usually enough for me, I'm not a big eater. Have to say first time I've left a place still hungry.. smallest half breakfast ever..

Not deserving a single star. Who would plate burnt wedges and bacon thinking itβs yum. Only at Eβs cafe. We ordered egg Benedict and loaded wedges. After waiting almost an hour, we got egg Benedict with burnt bacon and loaded wedges completely burnt black. Never will be back and never recommending to anyone.
