The pancakes were delicious. Fluffy and a good sized portion. Eggs and toast was good and the mushrooms were very moreish.
A lot of care and attention goes into the food and atmosphere here. I love that this cafe remembers local history (Maina’s face is on the wall). This seems to be a favorite spot that is often quite busy. We really enjoyed the food!!
Very nice café for breakfast! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Prices are fair, and you can choose to sit either inside or outside, depending on the weather. A perfect spot to start your day — highly recommended
Absolute amazing cafe….. incredible delicious food, a great vibe that has you repeatedly wanting to go back and we drive 60 kilometres to enjoy this experience! The pricing is in line with the food you’ll receive……. Service and friendliness of the staff including chefs who you can observe cooking while ordering…… lots of smiles and recognition you are a repeat customer
Maina is always buzzing, and for good reason—it's arguably the best value for money in Havelock North. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and reasonable prices. Whether for brunch or dinner, it never disappoints. If you haven’t tried Maina yet, you’re definitely missing out!
Every meal ordered was pure taste and quality. Excellent value, great service and a warm inviting friendly atmosphere. Our first visit, but definitely not the last. Can't wait to go back next time we're in town. You will enjoy!
Stopped in here for breaky while in Hastings for funeral. Was recommended by a very nice police officer in Hastings city. Any how this is a must visit. I had the Great Harvest breaky but had big eyes for the pancakes and the eggs benny. Any how was really pleased with the Great Harvest and my it was a Harvest. Eggs cooked to your liking. Bacon cooked with crispy edges, cream mushrooms and spinach just to please my doctor and 2 x home made hash browns all topped off with... drum rolll fried toast. Yes fried in butter on a pan just like we use to do as kids. Before such things gave you heart attacks. If your frm outa town ya gotta go here. Dont miss out. Staff super friendly nice friendly Hawkes Bay feel oh and the coffee is great. Sit next to the fire if its cold.
Delicious lunch! The pancakes were to die for, and the brisket sandwich was huge and amazing. Service was great and lovely vibe.

Another awesome find. Cute spot, easy to get to, friendly staff and wow food. The harvest breakfast is a huge portion of eggs bacon sausage toast spinach tomato mushrooms….. so tasty and seasoned perfectly. Coffee is delicious. Outdoor and indoor seating. Great ambiance.
