My husband and I were sent here for his 70th birthday by our family. Amazing place, the solitude is wonderful! Sitting outside by the fire with a glass of red wine listening to the evening/night bird song - kiwis, ruru, etc was something we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Stayed here on our honeymoon and it was incredible. Such a peaceful, unique location and a great spot for a bbq at sunset followed by some stargazing.

Beautiful place! Views and scenery are amazing. Off-grid which we enjoyed for a change. Very quiet, peaceful and private. Cozy in the living room space at night with the fire going. Loved the outdoor bath. Good location as its not too far from both Tauranga and Rotorua which we included both in our trip. Lovely hosts, would be cool to stay again :)

Amazing location! Amazing accommodation, such a neat experience staying here, everything has been thought out so well! All rooms smelled incredible and were very clean. The home made bread, fresh eggs, milk, smores kit, eye masks, how water bottles were such a lovely touch. We had such a lovely relaxing stay here, the sound of the birds, the gorgeous view, we spent ages watching 2 kingfishers it was really interesting to watch how they feed, was awesome having the speaker so we could have our downloaded spotify songs play in the background the whole time, there was such a good selection of games we could play, the outside bath under the stars! Just lush! highly recommend! The only thing that was slightly annoying if I did have to pick something was not being able to bring our car right up to the huts to unload and pack up incase we couldn't get it back up the hill but luckily it didnt rain while we were there so it just took us 2 trips to carry our stuff from car to huts as we bought quite a lot of stuff with us, but other than that small annoyance we absolutely loved it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Kokako Retreat. Would 100% recommend booking this place for a special getaway. The views are tranquil, the setting is so peaceful, and the accommodation itself is beautiful and so clean. Loved the extra goodies from the hosts!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely delightful stay at this charming property! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with thoughtful touches that truly made our experience special. The personalized welcome chalkboard note and the delightful s'mores kit, along with hot water bottles and pre-prepped firewood, set the tone for a cozy and inviting stay. One of the things that impressed us the most was how accurately the property matched the pictures – no unexpected surprises here! The presence of adorable farm animals, particularly the friendly sheep and horses, created a warm and authentic countryside welcome. The attention to detail continued outside with the helpful garden solar lights, making our evening returns seamless and safe. Inside, both the lounge and bedroom exuded a comforting warmth that was much appreciated. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the outside bath – an oasis of relaxation beneath the open sky. It was the perfect way to unwind and take in the serene surroundings. The thoughtfulness extended to the kitchen as well, with small essentials like cereal, milk, eggs, and butter provided. And imagine our surprise when we found a flushable toilet instead of the expected long drop! Cooking enthusiasts will rejoice at the range of cooking appliances and well-stocked kitchen equipment available. And for moments of leisure, the variety of provided games ensured we were always entertained. All in all, our stay was nothing short of exceptional. This property not only met but exceeded our expectations, thanks to the meticulous attention to detail, cozy ambiance, and thoughtful amenities. A heartfelt thank you to the hosts for creating such a memorable countryside getaway. We can't wait to return!
