We where in Napier for 2 days and loved our first visit to Pirimar Chippy & Serious Burgers, we went back the next day! Best Burgers we have ever had!! Awesome staff, nothing is a problem. Great little vibe going on ! You lot Rule ❤️
Was told this was one of the best chippies in napier! So i went there! 1 star for atmosphere, because i wouldnt a fish and chip shop be full of entertainment lol. - Gurnard 7.9/10 Nice cut. Well bettered. Was they had snapper. I'd buy again. - Scallop, Oyster, Mussel 8.4/10 All good size. All done well. - Chicken, bacon and avocado burger 8.7/10 Awesome built burger. All the fillings are a great combo, and chicken is grilled perfectly. And amount of avocado i got was really nice. Happy with what i got, I'd come back.
IG: 2Fish1Chip Order: Fish, Chips, Paua fritter and battered sausage. Cost: $27.20 The fish fillet was Hoki snapped frozen before reaching the store to ensure freshness. Despite it’s naturally small size, the fillet was super soft contrasted by the golden crunch of the batter. Balanced batter content to ensure it didn’t hold too much oil. They do offer Gurnard as an option, and in hindsight, it was the better option due to size. Paua fritter - The fillet was finely minced and I didn’t detect any onion. It had more batter than the Hoki fillet, and thus was oily. The taste was okay not as pronounced as some other Paua fritters I’ve had. Overall it was okay. Battered sausage - First time having one of these as I’m a battered hotdog kinda a guy. It was enjoyable and tasted exactly as one would expect. Batter was balanced and sizing was big. The chips were Crinkle cut, and IMHO, the king of all chips. The curved edges provide more scope for crunchiness which safeguard its pillowy centre. Cooked to perfection with low oil residue. The Pirimai Chippy is a very popular venue and MUST be at the top of your chippy dinner list when in Napier. Friendly and well staffed when I popped in yesterday (Friday), very clean premises. Absolute Winner without a doubt.
Recommend battered fish, juicy and tender fish of the day with thin crispy flour coating. Waiting time about 30 mins during busy hour.
The best Fish and Chips in Napier! You can NEVER GO WRONG WITH their awesomelicious Fish and straight cut chips! Friendly staff, smiling cooks and affordable! If you want to order ahead you can call and pick up. They can be sold out so please visit around 4:30 pmish so you can taste this 100% legit Fish and Chips!
If you’re new in town or in New Zealand go ahead and give this place a try. You will be welcomed and given lovely recommendations. I mean it when I say I normally hate fish and I also mean it when I say the food here (we tried the sausage, fish, and chunkies) was absolutely amazing. Fresh fish, perfectly crisp without being heavy and delicious sausage and chips.
I’m from the UK a place where they make the best fish and chips in the world, or so I thought. …this little chippy makes some of the best food I’ve eaten and treats customers as if they’ve booked a seat the Ritz. This is a friendly, wonderful place.
