Alto Cafe delivers a coffee-and-cabinet offering that’s straight to the point. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying. Plates offer plenty without tipping heavy. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Wait times are contained even when busy.
We had the plaster and cheesecake. For was unfaultable. The beefcheek was my highlight and the cheese cake silky. Definitely worth a visit. Street parking outside. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices

Tried pumpkin pie for the first time, it was wicked good! Coffee lady made my drink exactly how I wanted it but tasted better than I'm used too. This was my second time here, and I really think I need to bring other people back to share this experience. Alto Cafe is a gem. Friendly, accommodating staff I'm a nice space. Thank you!
Incredible food! Very cozy vibes with lots of sunlight. Super nice staff. Coffee was good (not amazing, but good). The food though wow…chefs kiss! Everything tasted incredible and we will definitely be back cus this is now my favorite cafe around Dunedin
We were visiting family in Dunedin. We went to Altos for a later in the morning breakfast. Our granddaughters were with us. We had a wonderful experience and were so pleased with the food and service. Great Eggs Benedict, excellent coffee and the kid’s offerings were a big hit!! Please got to Altos if you are in Dunedin, especially if you live there. Don’t miss out on a wonderful breakfast experience.
Came for breakfast with my husband to try somewhere new. Couldn't fault anything I had. We have a new go to breakfast place now!!!
Got the creamy mushrooms (top, $21.50) and the big breakfast (bottom, $24.50). Super delicious meals everything spot on. Also was fairly quick to be made which was awesome Only comment is cooked tomato's would have been nice but understandable leaving them out when not in season or expensive. Would definitely come to this place again.
My partner and I visited the other day, and we were very happy with the good service from all the staff, and the quick service of tasty food. Went back 5 months later. We ordered the same thing, portion size was alot smaller and a bit more pricey and there was no top bun for the burger this time round Unfortunately.
