Golly where to start. What has happened to this place?? I have been going here religiously for years as one of the βgo-toβ spots for food. I know the restaurant has gone through quite a few changes but this is the worst! Over half the restaurant had a reserved sign on the table so we had to squash ourselves up against a cold window with a view of the service station. Then we had to wait 50 minutes for our food which came out one by one. 2 tasty but small spring rolls, over cooked schnitzel and undressed salad & a very terrible pork kimchi burger with just about no pork or kimchiβ¦it was not good. In saying that the chips were good. The waitress was also lovely! But WARM beer from a tap houseβ¦.Worse of all not one of the better reserved tables were sat on the whole time we were there. Sadly I wonβt be back.

About Us
On the plate at Mornington Taphouse, the idea is classic fish-and-chips and well executed. Noodles arrive glossy and well seasoned. Meatβfree options are woven into the menu. Pricing lines up with the offer. Portions are generous yet well judged.

Final bill on the pricier side in comparison to other great/similar places. Food was on point though and in these current times you can understand. Lovely man in-charge of service was wonderful, allowed us to dine reserving a table when I called enquiring even on the cusp of last service so money well spent :)

I've had the pleasure of visiting a few times now and the food always hits the mark. The hand cut chips are to die for and if I dont get a burger I have to get a bowl on the side. The chicken burger is phenomenal and the only let down would be pricing. I do believe they are on the more expensive end however I'd say it is definitely worth it. 5/5 Would recommend to anyone especially for dinner.

Great service, and good food. We got a range of mixed plates to share, the garlic bread had cheese and was fab, pork belly was great too, and tacos had plenty in them. Thanks heaps

Since the refurbishment, I really enjoy coming to this place. It's quite spacey and clean with a great view if you come here during the day. The staff are very friendly and attentive. My favourite meal to have here is beef schnitzel. It's very crispy without being too oily. The size is perfect with side salad and chips. You can choose to have it with gravy or mushroom sauce. It's a perfect place to enjoy dinner or lunch with friends and family. It's an old establishment which is popular amongs locals. Highly recommended for a nice pub meals.

Was a good night great food and service was good. They were very busy being a Friday night and food took just under an hour to come out. Thai beef salad and a vegan burger

stopped by on a Sunday night, was fairly busy but service was still great, guy at the counter seemed like he was the manager. He ran the place great, ensured customers were happy and helped us decide what to eat. The food portions are pretty standard, when we went the restaurant was closed so we got bar food. The crumbled schnitzel was awesome (and good size) and would recommend the blue cod (however it is kinda small compared to other meals).

First timers , we popped in with no booking and a toddler and were pleasantly surprised we could be seated right away. The meals were huge. My wee one was given some coloring pages and pens. My mimosa drink was gigantic ans delicious. The staff were lovely. Think Ill be back for my birthday with the girls.
