Saigon Van Vietnamese Cuisine favours a simple, bistro-style line-up with clear, tidy flavours. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Meals land promptly at the pass. A sensible spend for the quality.
Very nice. I only leave reviews on horrible or great food, and this is the latter. Slight sweetness, nice deep but not overwhelming soup, clean flavours and appetizing beef cuts with great rice noodles. Very happy with the phó. $21 or $18.9 with student discount.
Great way to satisfy my pho cravings in New Zealand. Flavorful broth and decadent pho noodles- delicious!
Ordered the spicy beef pho and a side of spring rolls. Big bowl of the pho but the soup had an odd flavour to it - not sure what but I didn’t love. Big servings though. Spring rolls were good. Nice people and service
Charcoal grill pork has nice charcoal fragrance. Softshell crab is crunchy but a bit over fried, else will be great. Portion is not huge. Enjoy the fried spring rolls the most. Very cheerful and friendly boss and beautiful environment with jazz music background.
The pho was ok, consider it is Dunedin. But the fried chicken was a big fail! Not sure how chicken can be sooooo over fried…..
we went here just hopping for a nice cheap dinner and got so much more. the service was lovely, we got a great seat by the windows, it was warm and i haven’t even started talking about the food. the food was incredible. i would have paid double the price for what we got. we had the fried chicken and the savoury pancake to start and it was insanely goood. the chicken was juicy and crispy, the sauce matched it perfectly and the little carrot salad thing was amazing and so fresh. for our mains we had the 5 spice chicken (the most delicious chicken i’ve ever eaten, hands down, i didn’t even want to share it!) and my partner had the braised pork and egg it is was amazing. just fell apart in your mouth and he said the broth was the best he’s ever had!!! PS this is the boyfriend i had a phenomenal time i could t believe how nice the staff was and the food was honestly such an amazing price the service was so fast and incredible and they would try and keep the customers as happy as possible without badgering them! i could not tell you how many people i am going to recommend this place to and i want to say thank you to the world and staff for doing such an amazing Job. Lovely food, second time We have been there for dinner. Both adults and kids enjoyed the meal so much including desert. We originally were going to different place, but was too busy so decided to book here same day 2pm, thought little too late, but managed to book 8 of us in at 5:30pm.
