Nearly walked out before ordering. The chap serving needs to work on his customer service. Couldn't crack a smile. The food was good though and the young lady who delivered it made up for the guys grumpyness
We had a small group meeting today at Bay Espresso Taradale. We were outside and when Maia brought out our order, she found that our tables were wonky, so she got down and tried to adjust the "feet". When that didn't work, she bought out napkins to sure up the tables for us. Service with a smile, she was awesome! Water bowl provided outside for the dogs and owners are encouraged to sit outside with their dogs as the staff love dogs. Drinks and slices were great, nice range, including GF options. All the staff seemed to be enjoying their work, even packing up at the end of the day! Great atmosphere!

The food was appalling. I ordered the Salmon Bagel. The salmon came in an oily, overcooked block. It tasted bad. The meal supposedly came with capers and cream cheese but neither was anywhere to be found. The onion rings tasted like it had been cooked in the forbidden ancient oil from 1999. The garnish and seasoning for some reason was on the side of the plate?? My friends big breakfast was oily, underwhelming and over priced too. And to top it all off the coffee was bad aswell. Not a nice experience to spend $55 on and by the end of it still have not eaten anything. Please don’t come here, you will regret it.
Has a classic breakfast menu, plenty of cabinet food to choose from and delicious coffee. Would recommend the breakfast wrap !
A very nice cafe in Taradale. Their savoury muffins are divine! Always a good coffee too. Vegan options available.
Ordered big breakfast and vegetarian breakfast. We found the food boring, dry and mushrooms looked and tasted microwaved or boiled. Fortunately my coffee was good . Won’t be coming back.

Coffee is good, got an oat flat white, terrific. However the food is average, big breakfast is basic, slice is tough, not as good as it's reputation.
The cafe is a nice space for relaxing, the artwork is colourful and the lighting creative. There are lots of spaces, inside and out to chill, and there is a good looking array of healthy eating options with lots of GF and DF versions available. This cafe has a very good rep for coffee, which we probably should have ordered instead of the berry smoothies, as unfortunately, they weren’t great. They lacked flavour, and were topped up by adding milk after the blending process to fill the takeaway cups, which only thinned down the smoothie even more. The savoury kumara and bacon bake was delicious, and the carrot and quinoa salad was pretty good, but lacked some punchy flavour. The cauliflower and bacon bomb had a gluey sort of texture, which was rather off putting. Overall, a fairly disappointing visit to a cafe with a solid standing. Hopefully a return visit sometime will prove to be better.
