It was my 1st time trying chicken ramen and this place showed me that there are other options which will still bring out the ramen eating experience. I would definitely return again to try it, which they had other meat options so i can taste the difference between a variety if meat. Overall Really nice ambience with good music and a place to chill and dine out

Went here for a quick lunch with my Dad and baby. Very helpful staff, great menu, Ramen was delicious. They went the extra mile with children’s cutlery and even a balloon when we left. Had a highchair and change table. Great dining experience thank you.

It was nice. Thought I do think it was better to wait a bit longer instead giving us the bill right after we got our order just in case we wanted to get more drinks or desserts. Ramen was really good but portions are smaller than most places and things like the egg or seaweed are additional toppings so it is more expensive than other ramen you get and my favorite part was the onigiri. It is probably the closest restaurant you can get to a more authentic Japanese food. also the sesame ice cream was delicious. I would definitely go again. :)

I went to Takeichi with a colleague for dinner around 7:15 pm. We came from a flight and so we just wanted some nice warm food. We were seated pretty much straight away. I ordered the fresh nigiri, Kyoto black soy sauce ramen and the matcha Imagawayaki with ice cream. My order went to a total of $40. I'd say that's pretty good. The person who got my order forgot my ramen. I waited for quite a while after my colleague got their order. Good thing I checked the cheque that was left on the table and asked them for it. They also got the flavour of the Imagawayaki wrong. I got the red bean filling but I didn't want to say anything about it since it seems like they wanted to just close as soon as possible at that point plus I felt bad going up to them about my food already. The nigiri was good and fresh. The ramen was decent, I wish that the meat was cooked a bit better and sliced a little bit nicer. The broth was good though, I finished the whole bowl. The Imagawayaki was alright, maybe because I was expecting the matcha filling. On the way out, I overheard a conversation between potential customers and the waiter asking how fast they can make up their mind with deciding on their order as they are planning to close very soon. I understood what they were trying to say and I know there's no ill intention behind it but the way it was worded could've been nicer. Overall, decent place to have a meal at. I think it's well priced and quite filling.

The food came out suspiciously fast and did not taste fresh at all. Both times I’ve come food has not been appetising, and I’ve tried a variety of dishes - sushi, curry, noodles, ramen. All are below average and lack any real flavour. Avoid the edamame beans as well. Staff also made us feel unwelcome by giving us the cheque to pay while we were still eating. And they were watching us until we finished. 2 strikes for Takeichi and I will not return for to be disappointed for a 3rd time.

Absolute must if u like Japanese food and are in town! We came on Friday for lunch. We were given two warm hand towels on arrival. Such a nice gesture. Place filled up fairly quickly after we sat down. I ordered umeshu (plum wine), that I wanted to try for a very long time. Very delicious - not last time I am having that one. We had 2 bowls of ramen (clear chicken ramen and creamy chicken ramen) with extra toppings and both were prepared very fats and were super delicious. The place is beautifully done. Currently live painting event we have enjoyed watching. Fantastic decore, music and atmosphere is just right. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. And once at checkout you can buy a little themed souvenirs such as origami. Enjoyed our visit veré very much.

We mostly get pork ramens and this is our first time having the chicken variety - found them pretty good. Very tasty, flavourful, clean ramen. I like that they don't use the funky-type ramen noodles. The spicy ramen is too gently-spiced and needs to be level-up. The takoyaki serving is too small for the price. Mochi ice cream was a nice finish to the meal.

Best ramen restaurant in New Zealand with unparalleled service and atmosphere! Me and my friends went to this restaurant a few weeks ago in search of a good ramen restaurant in Dunedin, we ordered the *rich in collagen* ramen, absolutely fabulous, it is the best ramen I had in NZ, and we are now regulars of the restaurant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also stunning, and price of food is not too expensive as well.
