Sushi Mall delivers a Thai-inspired offering that’s straight to the point. Stir-fries keep good heat and snap. Pricing lines up with the offer. Fried rice and classics arrive hot and even. Tandoor notes appear clean and steady.
Online price menu is cheaper than price I was charged in store, and I think I paid for more sauce than actual food. Very disappointed as I was incredibly hungry, and this was $19 including a surcharge. Make it make sense?
Ordered a rice ball here. Chicken was a bit dry but besides that, It tasted great. Filled with delicious flavour and great value for $8.00. Staff are Japanese so great place for authentic Japanese food. Staff are friendly there too. I’d say worth it if you’re after cheaper Japanese food that has flavour.
About as far one might get from decent sushi. The chicken in the onigiri was dry and coated in tasteless hard breading. The udon was equivalent to the type you might buy from a grocery chain. It was expensive. The tables were dirty. I had to bus my own. Just another cheap awful restaurant the sells what they describe as “sushi” but is not fresh or made with any care. I suppose it’s the result of high rent and cost cutting measures. Another byproduct of the race-to-the-bottom mentality.
Amazing rice balls! I always come here when I’m in Dunedin, such good value for money, highly recommend!
Nice little place with several types of cold dishes to help yourself to or a whole menu of hot food prepared form scratch to order or ready to grab and go. I had ordered beef yaki udon and was blown away by the dish. Just hit the spot. My partner was very happy with his benot box too. There is free water to help yourself to. Orders are placed at the counter, where you also pay at the same time. I was charged a little more then expected due to change of prices, though I would have expected to know that prior my order,that the prices are slightly adjusted. It was not an issue. Food was delicious and place was cozy. I would suggest maybe add music to bring the whole experience to life.
We ordered some sushi rolls, beef curry and fried rice. Each meal tasted good. The sushi wasn't anything fancy, but I loved how fresh the salmon was. I would eat here again.
Staff are wonderful. Have been getting the rice ball for years. Although they’re $7 now it’s still a great deal for what is essentially an entire meal. They’re not the most delicious RB I’ve ever had, but the price is just so good.
