Oak Estate Wines leans into a coffee-and-cabinet approach with no fuss. Service moves quickly through the morning rush. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. Good value shows in the serve sizes.
Went for lunch and some wine. Nice outdoor sitting arrangement in front of vineyard. However, it took around 60 minutes (if not more) for them to start serving the food. And the amount of food in any dish or the platter was not worth the crazy price tag. The amount of food in the $65 platter was nothing but a joke!! Wine was fine though.
Had such a wonderful lunch at Oak Estate! It’s been on our list to visit for a long time and so glad we finally made it there. Exceptional service, food, and sensational wines. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating among the vines. This is a must visit for Hawke’s Bay.
Had a lovely hour or two at Oak Estate in the sunshine enjoying their hospitality, a gorgeous pasta ragu, tiramisu and wine. Food was great, wine was very nice too! No better way to pass a few hours in HB amongst the vines.
We visited Oak Estate Cellar Door while we were visiting friends who had just moved to Napier, as part of a half day wine tour with Frankly Tours (see other review). We did the tour on a Sunday, hoping that the cellar doors would be open, and we were not disappointed. Oak Estate was our 3rd and final stop, and we were served the most amazing cheese and charcuterie platter we have seen in years. A tiny 'one man' show vineyard, Stefan did the cheffing and John gave us the wines and their details. All wines were distinctly different from the previous 2 cellar doors (The Mission & Trinity Hills), and the wines were equally as unique. The food kinda overshadowed the wines for us at this visit, all 4 of us blown away with the flavors and texture of the terrine, duck pate, burned butter and ciabatta bread. Pre-arranged, we were even catered to for our glute free GF friend.
We had an amazing experience! The service was outstanding, the food was absolutely delicious, and the wine was of exceptional quality. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for hosting us!
We were totally disorganized, rang at the last minute asking if Oak Estate could accommodate 8 people, and they said yes, no problems. We got there, what an amazing view, staff were amazing, food was so good too. We jad the Oak estate platters and Glazed Lamb Shoulders with Honey glazed carrots. Everything was so delicious we even ordered more. The kids loved the Lamb dish to the point that even the sauce on the plates disappeared! Oh I can't forget about the wine selection and the delicious potatoes too! Absolutely stunning. The staff went above and beyond for us, they were packed so could have easily said sorry were booked, but they let us in. Also a massive thanks for helping us with our daughter's dietary requirements.

Great wines, delicious food, and friendly service. A nice place to stop for lunch with outdoor seating available at the back. They also sell some goods at the shop including homemade bread. The owners also run an Airbnb on the property if you’re looking for a quiet place to escape the city.
