Really nice vibes all round. Really good water refilling service. About the cheesy egg - it was a little too watery at the bottom, and was pretty bland. Not a good cure for hangovers On the hand, the fish cake was extremely delicious, the hollandaise was scrumptious. Egg is perfect. A must for when you are in town

Excellently prepared and conceived dishes make this unassuming restaurant one of Napierβs best. Great care had been taken to organise the setting, including 2 guitars in the wall which deserved to be played. We had the Coromandel Oysters; Duck Risotto, nicely cooked duck slices presented on a mound of Risotto rice, cooked just right; lamb rack (not the bones, just the meat), house salad, really nice potato gratin, and a delicious vanilla custard dessert that defies description, a bit like a dismantled millefuille! Wines were well matched by the, rather diffident, waiter. Weβd booked a table, which turned out to be unnecessary as there were very few customers - this being a Wednesday night. This detracted from the atmosphere, but meant that we could talk quietly! We would definitely return!

After humming and harring where to have brunch I settled with Mister D. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta etc...and with some extras, Bacon and Tomato. And had a doughnut with custard and coffee. Wow what amazing service and food! The meal and extras do add up, but so worth it. Best brunch and service I've ever had. Wish you were in Palmy nth.

Lovely greeting and seating experience. Order taken quickly, and water kept topped up. Cute little pestle and mortar with pepper in it, a little bowl of salt. EntrΓ©e came out quickly, long wait between that and main. Not personally a fan of the parmesan shortbread, though my partner loved it. The fried bread was OK, but too greasy for me. The sashimi salad had an enormous amount of lettuce, and was tasty. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the cheesey eggs.

We dined here last week and had such a fantastic meal. We had the sashimi salad and pumpkin soup to start, I donβt know if it is because it is a quiet day or their usual, but the portions were MASSIVE - we probably didnβt really need mains, but I was very happy to have got the GruyΓ¨re soufflΓ© - and forced myself to finish it because it was so good. My daughter had the eggplant thingy which is just a symphony of flavour and texture combo. They also served complimentary ciabatta. Great drinks options. Service was efficient and friendly. Thank you for a outstanding experience

High quality beautiful food and service, worth every dollar you pay. Staff were attentive and accommodating, happy to add an extra Ox Cheek Croquette to my starter dish to make it a more substantial meal. Cocktails are yum as well and the injectable doughnuts are heavenly, with your choice of filling.

We came in for lunch on a Sunday and we were not disappointed. Our sever was attentive and exceptional. Portion size was medium. Highlights are the salmon salad and gurnard fish.

We were recommended this place while we were in Napier. I would say it was one of the hardest ordering experiences I have had in a restaurant. Our whole group felt the same way. The waiter put a lot of pressure on us to order more than doughnuts for dessert, drinks were slow or wrong when they came out and the food was not spectacular. The doughnuts is a great concept and they were good and my boyfriend enjoyed his lamination. I wouldnβt recommend this place as there are so many other great places in Napier.
