Fantastic cafe , delicious food (beautifully presented, poached eggs perfect) & silky smooth coffee . We ordered Smashed Avocado with Halloumi & 1 added poached egg & Savoury mince which comes with 2 poached eggs. Large portions too. A great find whilst on holidays here. Plenty of seating indoors & outdoors , friendly staff. Dog friendly also.
I enjoyed the coffee and the coffee & walnut slice. Although on a sweeter side, it was exactly what I was looking for . The service was lovely also. The bathroom is clean. The cafe is very close to the beach front.
We just ordered drinks anf they were fabulous! Really authentic atmosphere and super nice staff and service!
Nice place for breakfast. I tried flat white, good with moderate strength. Wide range of food in cabinet. I have salmon panini, also good but nothing special. My friend has breakfast on tennyson, it looks good!
Overrated café. Nice architecture, decent selection but expensive and uncomfortable. I paid $24.90 for mince on toast - the menu said poached ‘eggs’ but they only serve one egg and mine was overdone. I asked for ‘no butter’ and watched the open kitchen as the chef made it as usual then had to remake it… and just let the egg sit there and get overcooked then reconstructed it and served it - I complained and they did make another egg with an acceptable yolk but it’s just a bit crap if your paying a premium. Just charge less, serve less mince and the two promised eggs cooked properly. The mince was ok - but way too much of it. I liked that they had water dispensers and the staff were very kind… but it’s just not somewhere I would want to eat again. Not that it matters, but I also despised the artwork. Trite.
Great place for breakfast in Napier. Bought my family with a baby and toddler. Lily was great and warm to all her customers. The eggs Benedict was great and so was the cabinet food. Would come back if I am back in Napier.
Have been here recently for both coffee during the day and also for dinner at night time. The food and coffees we got during the day were really nice! For dinner, the Ravioli of the day (which was spinach and ricotta) was so delicious! The pizza we got was also really lovely! Would recommend ☺️
I changed the review for the owner’s quick and positive response. I hope this cafe can still be one of Napier’s places worth to go. I understand the pressure to work on a long weekend, but the staff were frosty. We helped ourselves with the water and the cutleries. We ordered three breakfasts but only served 1. The girl told me that she only charged me one. I understand the noise in the shop might cause it. The staff said,’ So, you want two now?’ with an inpatient attitude when I reordered. And we waited for another half an hour for those reordered breakfasts.
Lovely food and great vibe. Well staffed so food and drinks came out very quickly. Menu is relatively small for breakfast but we thoroughly enjoyed our waffles and Eggs Benny!
