Overpriced and the staff talk amongst each other and not doing there job most of the time I have been there. I rate any place in Retail as a service for the customer. Room for improvement and the car parking is busy, If you are wanting a quick shop. The layout is not up to spec to be fair
Went shopping with the missus, Purchased some snacks and my missus wants to buy alcohol but because we were seen together , I had to be ID checked even though by law, only the one purchasing the alcohol (my partner) is only legally required to provide it. I also don’t drink nor do I really drive so I don’t carry around ID. I also stated this a few times to the person serving us, that it’s only for her and I don’t drink. He explains because we were seen together that she could have been fronting to purchase alcohol for me. Understandable since it may be store policy. But honestly for people like me who legitimately don’t drink, this sucked. He even had a bit of a cheeky look on his face. Sorry Woolworths, but that’s two customers yall ain’t getting back.
I just wanted to say how lovely the team at Hornby Woolworths are. Every time I visit, I’m greeted with warm smiles and genuine friendliness that truly makes the shopping experience a pleasure. The staff are always helpful, polite, and go out of their way to assist, whether it’s finding a product, offering a cheerful chat, or simply making checkout smooth and easy. It’s clear they take pride in their work and care about their customers. It really makes a difference. Thanks for being such a welcoming and positive part of the community!
Huge carpark and Supermarket has definitely updated inside with the added pharmacy. Great wide aisles are a fave for me? Friendly staff.
Really nice Countdown, we wish the Rolleston one was just like this one. Wide aisles, excellent vegetarian/vegan selection, which is amazing as I can't have dairy. Nice staff and large carpark and very centrally located in Hornby . Clean and tidy.
Nice quiet atmosphere with clean and tidy environment. Mosly well stocked and products priced fairly. The homebrand is a great value for money. Very friendly and helpful customer service. Child friendly as they have free fruits for them and the little trolley keeps the children busy. Their online shopping us great too with fast delivery. Will definitely be going back soon.
For a big city, Christchurch stores have such a pitiful selection of goods. There's certainly very little choice. You either don't stock all the brands varieties or flavours, don't stock it at all, or worse, what you do stock is ott. Tropical Raro. No lime. No raspberry. No lemonade. No blackcurrant. No idea!!! And to run out of a product? Seriously? In this day and age, with the technology used? Perhaps your stock re-order prompt numbers need re-visiting... And blaming the 'deadly pandemic' is just, well, old! Like I said, pitiful. PS. It's nothing personal. It's a Christchurch wide failing when it comes to the lack of variety. Oh, but something that is yours to own. That bloody great big mountain we have to go over coming into the carpark?! Is that really necessary? Unfortunately the photo doesn't at all give an indication of the diverse levels. And just one more thing. Given the price of grocery items, you think you could swing for a few more lights in your carpark. Not user friendly when you've never been to the store prior, it's night time, no-one else is leaving, and you don't know where the heck to go to get outta there!!! If lights are out of your budget, how about a couple of cheap signs depicting the way out?!
Very large and modern store. Clean inside. Prices are generally OK and you have multiple options for everybody's budget. Big parking lot with free parking. Only downside, and reason for the missing star in my review is that they were out of eggs, and this was the only thing I really needed. However this was Maybe because I was late
