We had the best time heading out with Carl, he is an absolute legend and I cannot recommend this experience enough! My husband and I landed a huge kingie each and also had the unexpected and breathtaking experience of seeing a small group of Orca swimming past! Tucking into the kingfish on board was epic - absolutely delicious and well prepared. Canβt wait to come back when we visit New Zealand again in the future. Unforgettable all round - still canβt wipe the smile off my face.
Overall amazing experience. Such a wonderful and kind vibe, super rewarding day. We really had such a highlight of a trip. Not to mention making our trip the best go with the flow day, with an a la carte yellowfin sashimi, and an impromptu free diving detour as well as the best tour of the landscape!!
Took my son and his friend for a couple of nights. Could not have been a better trip for us all! Carl was amazing and really looked after us throughout and had awesome Kaimoana. We learnt a lot about the beautiful area he calls home, was nice to spend time with the boys outside, and even saw dolphins, a whale, and Albatros out there. Finished our trip with a dive and some kΕura for dinner Iβd recommend this to anyone who wants to go on a retreat, or want to organise a trip with their kid/s. Canβt think of any downside to this one honestly, and make sure to bring a chilli bin if youβre planning on taking some home.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time out fishing with Carl. We went way out to the reefs and caught some kings and red snapper! He then took us to a remote beach where he cooked up our catch for lunch over an open fire. It was a great experience on our first ever deep sea charter and I would recommend it to anyone. Carl is quite the knowledgeable fisher and chef!
Carl Muir ya legend. Best charter I have been on. What a day we had. Put us on the fish on every single drop. Caught our PBS and got to take some decent Ika home. Went out of his way to gut our catch and ice them down properly. Also gave us some smoked Marlin that he landed couple days prior. Be back very shortly with my dad for another awesome trip. Had a great days fishing with Carl out on Provider in March. Family outing (father, son, nephew, friend). Great Kingi action with PB,s and first ever catches. As always, Carl put us right on the action all day, We have been out with Carl on a number of occasions and have never failed to return with bounty from the ocean. Had an extra bonus this trip. We stayed the night in Tairua so Carl prepared and served up some of our catch in an awesome spread of various delicious fish dishes. Great trip Carl....many thanks. See you next time.
We booked Carl & The Provider earlier this year but a whole lot of issues got in the way - including Covid. When we finally got on board The Provider, what an awesome day !! We had decided prior to target Blue Nose and Carl delivered big time ! 350 to 400 metres is a long way down, but the effort & anticipation was mega ! Carl knows his stuff and where the big fellahs attempt to hide !!
If you haven't been feeling yourself lately and think it's time to do something about it then I highly recommend jumping on board with one of Carl's men's retreats , it's a good way to give yourself a bit of a reset for the mind body and soul and along the way pick up some new culinary skills and ideas to preparing what you've caught from the ocean and sourced from your garden . For myself I completely enjoyed the experience and got a lot out of it with the added bonus of being able to spend some time on land and sea with an absolute legend thank you very much Carl .
