My partner and I stopped by the Bakehouse in Waharoa and decided to try a variety of items. We purchased a brownie, custard slice, spring roll, pie, a strawberry thickshake, and a caramel milkshake. Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing overall. From the moment we walked in, the customer service wasnβt great. We werenβt greeted or acknowledged when entering, which immediately made the place feel unwelcoming. The interaction at the counter didnβt improve much either, as the service felt rushed and uninterested. The biggest letdown was the drinks. Both the strawberry thickshake and the caramel milkshake tasted strongly of soap or cleaning product, and neither of them tasted anything like the flavours advertised. On top of that, the thickshake wasnβt thick at all β it had more of a thin, runny consistency, which made it even more disappointing. The food didnβt make up for it either. The spring roll was soggy and lacked any crispness, making it unpleasant to eat. The brownie was extremely hard, dry, and felt far from fresh. It was so hard it was difficult to enjoy at all. Overall, we were really looking forward to stopping in and trying the Bakehouse, but the quality of both the food and drinks, combined with poor customer service, fell well below expectations. For the price paid, we expected much better freshness, flavour, and basic hospitality. Sadly, this visit didnβt leave us wanting to return.

Place was clean and the pies were fresh but found the pork strip dry. Was nice to get a bite on a long trip.

For the third or 4th time Iβve bought things out of the hot food cabinet and itβs been as dry and tough as an old shoe. Mentioned it to the owner and he doesnβt wanna know about it at all and just walks away on you. Do better guys. Your prices donβt reflect selling sub standard food.

The Chicken Thighs were dry, The quiche was like yesterdays, and my mates pork belly was inedible... he took it back... I have been to many Bakehouses, definitely the worst,

Seriously, this place is disgusting. Bacon and Egg Sanwich was so stale it was more like a toasted sandwich it was so dry. The prices are sky high. $8.50 for a salad and Chicken Sandwich. Everything looks days old. Youd think they would give the begger sitting out the front some food. BE WARNED DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Stopped in for some lunch, the food was quite expensive for a small town bakery, the pie for $7 mince and cheese was worse than a Z or BP pie, the thickshake wasn't thick and served to me 80% full, they topped it up but didn't mix. Very poor thickshake. They only got two stars as it was clean, food nah, go further up road Would never stop here again.

Huge range of food options on offer. From hot pies and sausage rolls, to fish and chips, fried chicken, steak and breakfast meals. Sweet desserts and sandwiches. Hot coffee and cold drinks. Tables inside and out. There is one toilet inside. Good service and parking right outside
