Stopped to rest our baby from traveling from Auckland to the bay, was very nice area for this. But theres No right turn out of this reserve. Have to use a U-turn facility on Ferguson rd which is pretty annoying when getting stuck in Christmas traffic from the reserve heading in the opposite direction of where we wanted to go.

Great place for a picnic stop by the side of the mighty Waikato River. Easy access, turn from the SH. Clean toilets, boat ramp.

Just a few kms down the road from the very popular Horahora domain and Moana Roa. Keeley reserve is similar to Moana. The banks are a lot steeper navigate. Sitting on the edge of Lake Karapiro. The views are fantastic if you are up and about by 7.30am you can often see the local rowing club out practicing. Which is pretty cool. There are toilets but quite a walk from the free camping area.for such a nice site it has been let down with a lot of rubbish often left in the bushes and in the toilets. The Toilets had not been serviced in a while. I left some supplies in the toilets. But thenΒ somebody immediately took it all. Like Moana Roa some rubbish bins and service would go a long way.

Beautiful reserve just off the highway with motorhome parking and a toilet block. Toilet block is very basic and with no lighting, but a useful amenity to have access to. Very calm atmosphere and environment, not that much noise, but seems to be a well used area for water activities and recreation.

Nice place, toilets need cleaning. But over all a good spot for freedom camping

Great place to spend time on the water and not far from home. Nice grassed banks to set up for the day on. Toilet facilities, excellent ramp. One downfall is that not everybody knows the local boating rules in regard to direction and speeds. Can get a bit dangerous on busy days. Other than that itβs our summer happy place

We love it here. Great place for families. Safe beach areas for paddling and swimming and a good boat launch ramp. There are toilets but theyre not always open.

100% MUST VISIT!!! Truly Magical, Stunning, Amazing, and times Out of this world!! Pick the right time of day, and this reserve truly is magical! If your stopping here for any reason, you have to get out of the car and walk around.. there is soo much more to Keeley's Reserve than the boat ramp, ski ramp, and camping areas! The blue skies and sunshine of summer combine with Lake Karapiro to not only deliver stunning photo opportunities, but a place that can feel tranquil, peaceful, calming, and...yes.. truly MAGICAL! Plan your visit for a summers morning (believe me when I say sunrise is THE time) for the true, magical, and mystifying experience. The mist on the lake, with rowing teams practicing, and hearing their oars in the water and voices from the distance. But at that time of day the entire place seems to be acoustically modified .. hearing voices from afar as if they are right on shore with you. I've re-written this review to this version, as over time my impression of Keely's Reserve keeps getting better... and better! 100% - MUST SEE!! check out the photos.. and when travelling the Waikato.. plan to go to Keely's Reserve!

We stopped by to have some rest in the morning after a long drive. The view was amazing. Toilets were okay.
