   Once one of my favourite spots to camp in the house truck in hurunui, now unfortunately ruined by the penny system and a lack of hot shower options. The south side campsite needs attention paid to the electric systems, it was so much nicer when you could pay a person with cash for this spot. It's also shit pricy for 20 per night without working power on the south side and hot shower options.

   Amberly beach close to the camping ground at Amberly. You will need a kiwi cash token to enter the camp ground only staying the one night which is a shame

1. Wandering Bear (Bear) ★★★★☆

   Nice campground, near an ok beach(rocky). Dogs allowed in South section. Northern toilets are pretty bad-lots of bugs and smell. Nice walking path along beach. Only a small area with a hook for solar showers in Northern, Southern has cold shower. More tables would be nice. No/weak internet. Weekends are usually disturbed by motorcyclists and boy racers.

   Nice quiet place to go not to far from town. We go there quite often. The right hand side is for people with dogs and the left without dogs. Be good if the right could be done up a bit like the left but we still love going there with my family

   The superfriendly owner right made us feel very welcome. We were glad our last supplies (was our last day in our camper van) which we couldn't finish off would all be put to good use, also for the animals. No wastes here, good as gold! It's a nice and simple campsite with a lovely (small) beach just next to it. Had a lovely relaxing stay here, thank you again! (:
