First time trying Burger Wisconsin and it was just what I needed after a massive day at work. I had the American Burger with pickles and it was filling and tasty. I got free chips for ordering online to so make the most of that deal. Paired with a Pepsi vanilla Max and it was the cherry on top. Nice friendly service and I will be back again.

Not our first time visiting this branch on our visits to Christchurch. But to our surprise everything was different this time. The place was completely empty. The taste of the food very different and average compared to previous times. The service was impeccable but it doesn't make up for the declined to average food taste.

Well… we finally did it. We’ve been talking about coming here for ages, and last night was the night. I’d been before, back when I lived in Auckland and had fewer grey hairs and higher burger standards. It used to be great. Like, brag-to-your-friends great. We even got a car park right outside, which felt like a good omen. Spoiler: it was not. Now before I go on, I promised myself I’d keep all my reviews fair, kind, and considerate. Like the Switzerland of customer feedback. But also - truth. So buckle up. First Impressions: You know that feeling when you touch a doorknob and immediately want to bathe in Dettol? Yeah. That. The door was grimy, the walls were tired, the tables and chairs looked like they’d done a couple of world tours and never recovered. Shane Bond’s cricket jersey on the walk in a dirty frame. The Vibe: Think “grunge,” but not on purpose. The Menu: Classic burger options, but only three of them qualified for a combo deal. I tried to sweet-talk my way into upgrading to another burger in the combo, but the answer was a hard, unforgiving no. Like, straight-up no. I got the Triple C meal - burger, fries, and a fun-sized very small can of drink (seriously, blink and it’s gone). All for $25.90. My husband went rogue with a solo kiwi classic burger, curly fries, and a drink - no combo, all separate. Total damage? $56. For two people. Casual robbery with a side of over cooked curly fries. The Wait: About 15 minutes. Which would’ve been fine if I hadn’t watched my fries get made… and then sit there on the pass for 13 minutes. I could’ve crocheted a scarf and watched them cool in real time. I stayed to eat in because I hate cold fries. Joke’s on me. The Experience: Our table? Sticky. The window? Also sticky. The flies? WAY too friendly. We were basically extras in A Bug’s Life - cluster flies circling us like they were waiting for the will to be read. The Food: • My burger: Hot but watery. Drowning in mayo. Like it was going through something emotional. • Fries: Cold. Small. • Garlic mayo: A shining light in an otherwise dim tale. • Hubby’s burger: Decent. But had tomato in it even though he specifically asked for none. Tomato: 1. Husband: defeated. Final Thoughts: Honestly, the overall grubbiness had me questioning everything. Like, if this is what the front looks like, what does the kitchen look like? Existential dread, served with fries. So… not a great experience. Definitely not worth the $56. Unless you’re into flies, funky tables, and emotional burgers. Would I go back? Probably not. But hey, at least the garlic mayo was great. Oh. And two other things. It was soooooo loud in there it was hard to talk - it ended up being some kind of air con situation and when they turned it off it was like silence of the lambs. Then a radio was turned on with a radio channel that kept looping the same advert - I counted and the whole time we were there ( after we could actually hear what it was saying) I heard the same advert 23 times. So the atmosphere was a nothing atmosphere. So strange. Will not be going back.

Definitely isn't what it use to be like 10 years ago. Staff awesome food pretty average.

I don't like waste but we had to throw away our delivery order. we had the "Angus beef" burger but what we got was a slab of under cooked fatty meat where i was picking large bits of gristle out of my mouth. Along with a side of soggy kumara fries sounds like a kitchen malfunction. Very sad to waste the food and $50+ on this order and left us having to cook on a Friday.
