Went there Wednesday at 9.15 for a beer and gamble was closed even though it says open to ten tried door and bar man yelled we closed go away won't be going there again
Great establishment. Bouncer who was on 6/12 absolutely legend. Friendly, willing to have a conversation, looking out for everyone’s safety. Will definitely be back!
Bar185 is a great place to hang out in Christchurch. Good vibe, nice atmosphere, and the service was spot on. Samson looked after us really well – super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit!
Disappointed…I’ll order on doordash 1 Margherita was show in picture are woodfried and I’ll receive uncooked based like frozen..very bad taste waste of my money

I recently visited Bar 85 with high hopes of enjoying a good night and engaging conversations. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling disheartened and concerned about the presence of racial discrimination within the establishment. From the moment I walked in, I couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling that I was being treated differently because of my race. The owner seemed disinterested and distant, lacking the warmth and hospitality I have come to expect in a bar setting. Moreover, I noticed a stark contrast in their behavior towards Indian patrons compared to non-Indian visitors, particularly those who appeared to be of white ethnicity like myself. On several occasions, I witnessed instances where Indian patrons were greeted with enthusiasm, while non-Indian customers were given minimal attention and seemed to be an afterthought. This blatant discrepancy in treatment was difficult to ignore and created an uncomfortable environment for those who were not part of the Indian community. As a firm believer in equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their race or background, I cannot overlook the concerning incidents of racial discrimination that occurred during my visit. Discrimination in any form is unacceptable and has no place in a modern society. It is my sincere hope that the management of Bar85 takes immediate action to address these concerns, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons. I recommend potential visitors to be aware of these issues and to consider their values and comfort level before deciding to visit Bar 85.
Honestly Bar 185 is a blessing for ChCh town,What a lovely vibe 100/100. Massive respect for all staff, you guys are awesome !!
Great place to hang out. As a woman I always feel safe here and are able to enjoy the drinks in company of the wondersul hosts and other guests.
Frankly, the best shisha I ever had. Smooth and nice. The place is nice too. The owner is warm and welcoming. Excelent service. Definitly a place that I advice to visit and enjoy
