An enjoyable experience from the time we entered until the time we left. Food and service were excellent. Highly recommended. Will certainly return.

We had an amazing Christmas lunch!! And Chef Ryan out did himself to accommodate the vegan in our family! Absolutely exceptional, thank you!

First time here - very disappointed to find, on arrival, that a venue tagged as *dog-friendly* on google - and presumably trading on that point - doesn’t allow dogs inside. Politely moved outside, where it was 11 degrees, with no heating. This is Christchurch - any decent venue needs outdoor heating year-round if they expect customers to sit outside. Food was also pretty average, and service was polite but perfunctory. Honestly, had expected more.

Burger was decent. Nachos were interesting. Tortilla chips topped with Chilli soup, sour cream? And what tasted like sweet Chilli sauce. Not bad just not what I was expecting. Bruschetta was small portion and not as flavorful as I would expect(balsamic was just sweet), but still good.

Asked to Leave early My friends and I were looking for somewhere to watch the Australia V England world cup soccer match so I rang ahead early in the day to see if the Brickworks would be showing the game and staying open late, given the late kick off at 10pm NZ time. I was assured they would be, as was my friend who also rang later in the day to ask the same question. When we arrived at the pub at 21:30 and ordered drinks and food we were informed by the bar staff that they might be closing early. I mentioned the fact they had confirmed on two occasions earlier that day that they would be staying open for the game, but I got a vague reply around not having enough customers to cover the cost of the having staff on at that stage. At that point there was about 10 customers in the pub which reduced to 5 of us about 15 minutes into the game at which point we were told the pub was closing in 20 minutes. I guess my point is (1) don't say you're going to be open for the match and then turn around when paying customers turn up saying you are going to close (2) Adhere to your trading hours listed on the door if you have even one customer in the bar (it says 11pm on the door and on google) and (3) don't start cleaning up around the customer as they try to enjoy their pint, it kills the atmosphere an reinforces the notion you want them to hurry up and leave !! A bit of customer service goes a long way and the Brickworks would pay well to indulge in a bit.

The attractive young woman who attended to us was brilliant. An excellent staff member. However, my medium-rare steak was too rare and my wife's burger was overcooked.

Wasn't a huge fan of the George Chicken, I think it was called. But loved the slaw. Was a huge meal didn't even eat half. Had cod bites for starters and they were delish.

Food was amazing!!! Always fancied this place after driving past a few times, did not disappoint! Service was great, waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink. The food was one of the best I have had in Christchurch, steak was cooked perfect and the presentation on all dishes was impressive. Great wine selection to add to the food. Staff were all super friendly and nice atmosphere to the place.
